Darwin at work yet again!

I wasn't suggesting she could have saved herself. It was the statement that her dress got wet and pulled her to the bottom that I was reacting to.

you mean to tell me that all that money they spend on a dress it does not come with a quick release button or string to pull? whats the fun of it then?

They should sue the wedding dress designer for not adding life-vest in the dress

I imagine that kind of feature would come in handy for one's wedding night.

I had a believe it came with such a feature, clearly I was wrong!! or they didn't showed her how to use it!

I dunno though....maybe "unwrapping" the chick from her dress, 10 zippers, 50 pull strings and all, would be part of the excitement. Kind of like removing that shiny new toy from it's packaging before you get to play with it.

I dunno. Considering the male track record with bra clasps, I imagine it would be painfully lengthy and complicated procedure.

It's very nasty the way the media are framing it....her "trusting" nature....."she would never put her life at risk, she loved life and her family...". But the fact is she was a fool! Did you see a pic of those semi-rapids?!?!?! With water flow like that, it could sweep you off your feet in shorts and sandals! Submersed in flowing shallow water with a dress like that could easily wrap your feet, or envelope your arms and prevent the ability to swim.

The woman may have loved life, but she didn't love common sense. Loving life is not a qualifier of morality or intelligence. Thrill seekers "love life" also! The firnges of it, flirting with the natural high of potentially losing one's life...again "loving life" is not a valid excuse for anything. And sinse when have wedding photographers been qualified life guards to warrent "trust" when submersing one's self in a potentially dangerous current?

One handed, left or right. The only ones that are a problem is when the chick refuses to believe she needs a larger size and there's an unreasonable amount of pressure on the clasp. Fitted properly it's a simple tug, pinch and slide of the thumb and finger.

Maybe wedding dresses should carry Government health warnings. For so many reasons.

Or perhaps we need a multi billion dollar wedding dress registry? or photo registry? how about river registry?

Time to perhaps BAN drownings anyone?

So...none of you guys take risks in life? And what she did was stupid? Really? Very sad, my heart goes out to her family and fiance :(

Ofcourse we do, but if any of us get hurt or die on a motorcycle i hope our families wouldn't be trying to ban motorcycles or look for the government to somehow prevent it in the future.

You take a risk and live with it. Sometimes you win, sometimes you don't.

SCORE for the husband.
Just married a real estate agent (most likely has some decent money) who just bought a house. Then got herself killed in some water.
So now he gets the money, the house, and insurance will most likely pay for the funeral! And he doesn't even have to put up with her female-dogging.

You forgot about accidental insurance.

But in this type of situation will they even pay out?
