Wow. CE has gone full ostrich on reality. Has she taken a flight in the last decade where they load by zones? As soon as they announce the first zone, 80% of the plane gets in line even though the zone was 40% of capacity.

Ontario’s health minister says people won’t be asked to provide proof of their pre-existing health conditions to access a COVID-19 vaccine during the second phase of the rollout.

The vaccine will be offered starting in April to people with specific health conditions like organ transplant recipients, those living with obesity, and those receiving treatments that suppress the immune system.

Christine Elliott says she believes most people will come to the clinics when they are permitted and not take advantage of the honour system.

EDIT:

In highly related news see below. Looks like the honour system works well in Canada.

Health Minister Adrian Dix says about 1.7 million phone calls were received before 10 a.m. after lines opened at 7 a.m. on Monday, despite only around 80,000 people being eligible for the the first round of B.C.’s broader vaccination efforts

Thanks for pulling the information on this,

I’m very pleased and hopefully it’s going to roll the way they are expecting

People can't wait at traffic lights for their turn...no ******* way is an honour system for vaccines going to work.

@FullMotoJacket sorry, I don't understand your Huh?

the vaccine by J&J was approved on March 5...it's a single dose vaccine, however only has a 63 or 67% efficacy rate...
at treating the symptoms. That was the wording they used.

If they put out a call to vaccinate all of the homeless in Toronto, how many people would show up?

The people leading the parade (VIPs, politicians) don't follow the honour system. Why would they expect more of the troops.

How long do you spend in a restaurant generally vs how long for a church service vs how long in a bar vs how long do you spend in a store getting groceries?
Church? I only go for the playoffs (weddings and funerals), usually about an hour.

Bar? Depends on when I arrive and when they make last call.

Groceries? 5 minute workout.

Article doesn't provide the time between vaccination and when infection was discovered, and it doesn't say what "high uptake" means. It takes several weeks (2 - 4) for your immune system to react.

I am thinking recently as it mentions that some had received two shots. I agree, Way too many loose ends in the story to draw conclusions.
