How can you do construction if they are not issuing building permits :| are they daft

... who wrote all that stuff, somebody who never did a day of real work in their life?

Soooooo.........are we copying South Korean or Singaporean methods that have been proven to work or are we making this up as we go along because we obviously know better?

a) you could have an open permit
b) who's not issuing permits? I had a client call me friday afternoon wanting a revised report by today. They had a face to face meeting at the city with multiple city employees, the client and multiple consultants on friday morning and the city wanted some things changed. Why the everloving *&^*(&^ are they bringing people from all over the GTA to have a meeting. Humanity disappoints me daily.

More Italy methods of keep drinking vino and hoping for the best. It worked out well there. I am looking forward to it. ?

So pretty much things are unchanged.
We have an official list, but majority of the public is still allowed to run wild as the please.
Pretty idiotic in my opinion.

Would have been easier to compile a list of the non essential services.
1. Schools, Public-Private, pre-JK to post-grad
2. Places of worship.
3. Restaurants, movie theaters, sporting/commercial events

Everyone else, fend for yourselves.

that list is WAY too long imo...my worry is what's going to happen once we're allowed to return to "normalcy" and a lot of us are not immune to the virus because we haven't been exposed to or infected by it?...we know this isn't going to magically go away any time soon, so those of us who are adhering to the rules, will eventually get sick the second (or third) time around...hopefully by then, we'll have a vaccine for it...I guess that's all we can hope for...

That's the master plan, flattening the curve. The health care system can withstand a steady stream of sick people as long as it doesn't overwhelm the system at any one time.

If eradication happens that's a bonus.

jesus christ, who votes for these clowns?

Perhaps they used this as an opportunity to throw everything at it including the kitchen sink. Knowing that more than likely it will pass given the current crisis.

Thankfully Scheer has already said he won't support it.

That's not a panacea either.

JT should have taken this opportunity to be a leader instead of a horses ass (assuming the leaked contents are accurate).

Alternatively, they leaked it, watch the reaction and edit tonight to appear as heroes? It wouldn't surprise me.

doesn't matter what Scheer and the Reformers say
170 is the magic number

if that Bill is getting tabled tomorrow
means the Liberals have whipped the vote already
and have enough support from the Bloc and/or NDP to pass

there will be outrage
but tomorrow is a rubber stamp exercise

that bicycle repair shop lobby guy is really persuasive

and that's the argument/heated debate hubby and i had tonight...he's a truck driver so i agree that they are essential to get goods back and forth...i said other than pharmacies, healthcare, grocery stores, truck drivers, gas stations, paramedics, police and fire fighters, everything else should be closed...he countered with well what happens if i get a flat, who is going to fix it...or what happens if a nurse's car breaks down, how is she going to get to work...and so on and so on...sometimes i think he and i are on different wave lengths...
