I have a buddy in municipal sewage management, running a pumping station up in grey/bruce. You'd be amazed (or not) of what gets into the sewer and toilet systems, and since it cant be processed it gets shoveled out. We make fun of government workers, but I've never had an 80L pial of used condoms to deal with. That weren't my own.....

Ubereats is apparently still taking ~30% of the bill when you order from a restaurant. It would be nice if they decided not to be evil and wound that back a bit. Their volume is probably skyrocketing and most of the self-driving death machine testing is paused, they can afford less margin.

I am with the post before. Each house gets a screen on their side of the property line. Do something dumb and you flood your basement with your own excrement. You quickly learn to change your behaviour. As it is, there is no direct feedback loop, just lots of money wasted on municipal repairs.

I'm keeping a mental list of the “good guys”, I fully intend to try to do business with them when this is over. As for those trying to excessively profit from misery and misfortune......screw them.

Screw mental list. If traditional media wants to justify their existence, that is a great story. It requires some research but you can quickly come up with some big winners and losers. You can start with nationwide and drill down to local areas if you want more screen time. It may be a tough sell to get media to publish the loser list though. Many of the losers are likely also the ad money.

That's what I have been doing, just got back in from a afternoon scoot.

Still kinda quiet downtown, but lots of people out for walks (strollers), runs, biking, and with dogs. Made a few little dogs go squirrely with the bike. Always amusing.
