I dated a girl years ago that freaked a bit when I tried to help her with her scarf. Her alcoholic dad had once tried to strangle her. She was fine as an O R nurse seeing things that would make me faint.
PTSD from the scenario I used as an example. Wears a mask at work every day.
Like I said, you'd probably need to go to three decimal places for it to even register statistically as a valid excuse for not wearing a mask into a store.
I get about the mask wearing, What i have seen and was referring to is being locked down, the mental state of some are fragile and locking down just adds to the mind racing and not being able to shut it down. or even think in rational terms to sort through things
Unfortunately we are not New Zealand, an island miles away from the epicenters so not an apple to apple comparison. If we did a harder lockdown it would be less disruptive in the long run. Our dysfunctional governments are to blame, primarily federal.
I think people by nature are jealous and jealousy can breed stress. If everyone was in the same boat the stress would be somewhat minimized. Seeing others appearing to have more is part of the problem.
The media has had stories from both sides of this expressing outrage. Most of the stories are "how could they let this spread?!!! They are incompetent". This home tried something (which is not allowed to be done) and you get "how could they lock them up?!!!". Very very few people are presenting even a marginally possible alternative, they are just bitching about what happened.

Right-wingers (the ones that actually acknowledge the existence of an infectious disease): "Quarantine all the at-risk folks and open everything else up!" Also right-wingers: "OMG, they're locking people up and denying them their rights!"
Folks, there are situations where you can't have it both ways. If you lock people up to prevent them from hurting themselves or others, you're denying their rights. If you let them go wherever and whenever they want citing the Charter of Rights and Freedoms, they'll hurt themselves or others.
Mental health ... Alzheimers ... or coronavirus. Doesn't matter. Same thing different flavour.
Sure, but acknowledge the conflicts, evaluate the available options, come to a decision, and stick to it instead of just screaming bloody murder at every turn.
I have no party allegiance ... but I have sure voted Conservative more times than I have voted NDP. But I am not a blind adherent of their policies. When there's stupidity, I'll criticise it. Doesn't matter where it comes from.
I absolutely do not want a NDP government today ... but I'm thankful of the past NDP government decades ago that brought in universal health-care.
I don't like Justin Trudeau. (He's corrupt.) But we could have done worse.

but you have voted liberal more times than conservative?
I'm the same, i got brand loyalty to no party. I've in the past have voted for all three in one time or another depending on the platform they was running on
I don't keep track of it. I certainly didn't vote for Kathleen Wynne's Liberals the last time around provincially, if that's what you're asking. And I sure didn't vote for the Trudeau Liberals the last time around federally, either. Go back a couple of elections when the Conservatives were promoting stupidity concerning education funding, I sure didn't vote for that, either.
Stupidity (wherever it's coming from) = me not voting for them, doesn't matter what political stripe. Problem lately has been that there's stupidity all around.

There are ways of controlling exits and entries but they aren't five dollars a door. Mag locks, controlled by a central panel as well as a local keypad is one. Nailing a door shut is not an option in any building, especially where immediate response may be necessary.
Ten doses of the Covid-19 vaccine would expire within hours, so a Houston doctor gave it to people with medical conditions, including his wife. What followed was “the lowest moment in my life,” Dr. Hasan Gokal said.

I don't have 'brand loyalty' but I do make my decisions based on principals and to some extent ideology. The only Liberal I ever voted for was Chretien, and I did that because he had sound fiscal principles and policies. I did cringe at his frequent dances with corruption, but knowing that was a 'Liberal thing', I had to grin and bear it because overall I believed he was better than the other options.
