Where does "being a good member of the community" fit into your plan?
Not my plan . It's called a charter of rights . These are the laws we live under . You can't pick and choose when they are in effect .

That is why we have laws . Show me where in CC they can detain you for a covid test or force you to quarantine facility without a hearing . What the government is doing is emergency measures . Not laws . Hence they changed their tune to fines not quarantine hotels .
sure, so again what part of the charter is being infringed? just paste it so we can disect.

he's not discussing being a good member, he's speaking about the application of the law, which is fair.

i would love to know exactly what part of the charter he feels is being infringed on by the hotel stays.
The question is what law an I breaking to be detained .

Hight cost of daycare today is largely the result of the Ontario Liberals plan to force Ontarians into another job subsidy -- they changed the rules when they were bleeding manufacturing jobs out of the province.

When my kids were small, lots of moms did home daycare. Many took in a few kids which let them stay at home. My friends at the time took in kids for $100-125/week, which provided them a modest income and the family that needed daycare a reasonable expense. Prices also stayed reasonable as there were no receipts, tax or declared income -- gov't had turned a blind eye to this since the beginning of time.

Isn't this how it is supposed to work? Essentially Babysitting?
'Aunt ' Sally had her 2 kids plus the 2 of us. My mom paid her to watch us until school ages.

Mobility rights

Canadian citizens have the right to enter, remain in, and leave Canada.

Canadian citizens and permanent residents have the right to live or seek work anywhere in Canada. Governments in Canada can't discriminate based on what province someone used to live or currently lives in.

However, laws can set certain rules for when people are able to get social, health and welfare benefits. For example, you may have to live in a particular province for a certain length of time before getting health benefits from that province. Also, provinces with an employment rate below the national average may create programs that are only available to its own socially and economically disadvantaged residents. These programs encourage the residents to stay in the province and contribute to the workforce.

what part of the airport fiasco is limiting your right to enter or leave canada.

thpbbt is probably too young to have heard the phrase "Just watch me" and know what the War Measures Act is/when it can be applied.

There isn’t one in there. As it was said. We are free to enter, and return. But forcing a quarantine is not an infringement of any right.
that's the crux of the issue, we believe we have freedom of travel in this country, which we do to an extent. like most law it is fairly vague and up to interpretation (judges).

here is the actual full writ

Mobility Rights

Marginal note:Mobility of citizens

  • 6. (1) Every citizen of Canada has the right to enter, remain in and leave Canada.
  • Marginal note:Rights to move and gain livelihood

    (2) Every citizen of Canada and every person who has the status of a permanent resident of Canada has the right
    • (a) to move to and take up residence in any province; and
    • (b) to pursue the gaining of a livelihood in any province.
  • Marginal note:Limitation

    (3) The rights specified in subsection (2) are subject to
    • (a) any laws or practices of general application in force in a province other than those that discriminate among persons primarily on the basis of province of present or previous residence; and
    • (b) any laws providing for reasonable residency requirements as a qualification for the receipt of publicly provided social services.
  • Marginal note:Affirmative action programs

    (4) Subsections (2) and (3) do not preclude any law, program or activity that has as its object the amelioration in a province of conditions of individuals in that province who are socially or economically disadvantaged if the rate of employment in that province is below the rate of employment in Canada.

you'll note this section;

  • Marginal note:Rights to move and gain livelihood

    (2) Every citizen of Canada and every person who has the status of a permanent resident of Canada has the right
    • (a) to move to and take up residence in any province; and
    • (b) to pursue the gaining of a livelihood in any province.

This is probably where people will say "i have the right to go where i please and make a living, live my life". However my non lawyer ass believes the following section is where it falls apart;

Marginal note:Limitation

(3) The rights specified in subsection (2) are subject to
  • (a) any laws or practices of general application in force in a province other than those that discriminate among persons primarily on the basis of province of present or previous residence; and
Your right to travel is subject to laws or practice of general application in force in province. like <drumrolls> emergency measures, etc.

okay how about you just answer instead of becoming @jc100 2.0
I'm not sure what you don't understand . You cannot be just detained . You must have a hearing before a judge . I can't recall the name of the warrant for people involved in terrorisms . They are the only ones that can be detained by the government without a full hearing and show cause .

shove 30 packets of heroin up where the sun don’t shine...waddle through customs...get caught and then try the “you can’t detain me” line. Let us know how it goes.

Is the war measure act in effect ? I have not heard that is was .

You are detained till you show you can prove you citizenship . Once you clear immigration and are breaking no laws . You are free to go . If you are detained at the border after . They will take you to a judge .

I thought detainment without a judge was illegal?

Then you are breaking the law . They will charge you with importing narcotics . They will detain you for breaking the law . I know this is tough on you . The four masks are cutting the oxygen off to your brain . But at least you are safe from the VID.

Should have been clearer . They will detain you if you are breaking the law or do not meet the requirement to enter Canada . Then will be charged and you will see a judge .
