What
well, then i read the small print.

3 days hotel quarantine pending negative test result. then you can finish at home.

right, tell someone who just got a negative result to stay home for 11 more days. what a bunch of clowns.
A useless €÷/*#_ €/÷=/sucker. It's like he us actively trying to make this as bad as possible so he has as excuse to spend infinite money forever.

No March break for the idiots!

Look at New Zealand..they are starting to have concerts again. Let’s throttle this thing once and for all and get back to normal sooner.
Not everyone is an Idiot, people have loved ones they travel for. I'm in a LDR and we haven't met since last Oct, we are worlds apart.

These measures are f'd up and against our rights, the cost is $2k+ for 3 days, and a positive results nets you 2weeks+ in a a monitored concentration camp. There will be no normal again, kids are commiting suicide daily, people have lost livelihoods... Its not my responsibility to look after someone else immunity and pay for it.

Honestly if there is a negative result then technically they can be out in public no? The whole point of the 14 day quarantine was lack of testing for incoming travellers.

Unless the tests are garbage then too bad 14 days it is. NZ forces a test before you fly in, when you fly in, and a few days before they release you from the 14 day quarantine.

3 days is still in incubation period. You can have it and test negative. You need at least seven days to catch something like 90% of cases. If they are sending you home to continue isolating they should have kept you. Once you are released from govt monitoring, you should be free to act as any other citizen.

Edit:

This is just another JT cya. He doesn't want too many positive tests in quarantine as is would show just how flawed his policies have been all along. He is doing the minimum possible (again) to say he is doing something while having the smallest effect possible.

actually yes it is your job to look after someone else’s immunity...it’s all of our jobs. The alternative gets you infinite lockdowns due to selfish behaviour.

currently there is a 14 day quarantine order, how many people do you believe are actually doing it?

so to deter travel and 'enforce' the quarantine we tell people they have to go to a hotel on their dime? but wait, after 3 days and 1 negative (likely rapid) test, you can go home, but stay there for 11 more days (again, how many people do you think will follow this order?).

and rapid testing has been fairly wishy washy with just one result, general consensus seems to be you need 2 tests in a 3day+ period to get a more accurate result

Ok. Then I take back my statement.

I live 45 minutes from my father and i didn't see him once between February and July.

What rights have you lost?

You don't believe you have a responsibility to protect the health of the general population? Know anyone waiting for an elective surgery or cancer diagnosis right now? Because those are the people suffering while the ICU is full of people fighting the virus. If everyone took a little more responsibility and didn't put others at risk we would be in a better place then we are now.

Apparently you can buy negative results at some airports in the Caribbean...

So I’ve read. Ridiculous but understandable. Where there is a market there is money to be made.

Question is....who’s responsible for allowing a ‘fake’ test through? Who can confirm whether the test was done at a real facility? Or bought at the beach?
you think there isn’t already a market brewing for fake vaccine confirmation documents here? They’re just waiting for the govt to issue how it’ll look like so they can finalize their designs.

Frak I’d love to report my neighbour that is running a hair salon from her house. But unless I’m 100% it’s anonymous I ain’t saying a thing. Her husband doesn’t seem like the type to have a civil discussion with and I prefer my face in one piece.

In bumble*&*^ery step number 9357, apparently it is going to take the feds weeks to start this program. Jeebus. The mind boggles. It's not like this is a new and novel approach. They should have been sitting on a plan for the past 8 months with all of the prospective hotels lined up to be implemented quickly if required.

I've really lost faith in any and all Governments.

I'm stuck in the Bay Area. Today there were 19,300 new cases, 617 deaths and the infection rate has been trending upwards at 0.6% for the last 2 weeks.

What does the government do? Decide it would be a good time to re-open all the restaurants. WTF!!!!

IT'S NOT MY RESPONSIBILITY TO DIE BECAUSE YOU CHOSE AN INCONVENIENT RELATIONSHIP. YEAH, I'M YELLING.

Almost every older person I know would decline this option of joining. All to do with independence and risk assessment.

My grandfather, god rest his soul, would now agree with not giving up assets to children

And once they dont really care anymore, well, often they cannot consent to it.

Key word: Children

If you live to see your kids into their late thirties you will know if they are good with money or not.

If they are they won't need yours so spend it on yourself.

If they aren't they will only waste what you leave them so spend it on yourself.

A Chinese friend said their estate is for the grandchildren. Think dynasty.

One problem with leaving money to children is that you can only guess what they will do with it. Blue chip stocks or blow?

A lady I knew left her 17 Y.O. son money in trust of her brother (A stock broker) and he tripled it in 10 years when the kid could get it. Nice car, a few parties and it was gone. It could have been a down payment on a modest house that in turn could have been paid off by now.

New Zealand 14 days quarantine for $3,100 ($2850 CDN)

Canada 3 days quarantine for $2,000.

Two thirds the money for one fifth the quarantine with rule breaking the biggest joke going. Simpleton! People won't cheat BS

No wonder he's hiding out. It should be under a rock. Gutless wimp.

He really doesn't know what things cost for real people.

For people that actually have dynasty money, there are some amazing schemes. My favorite was probably one where a trust held the wealth (controlled by a lawyer, accountant, etc) and the kids were paid a salary from the trust. The salary was related to their employment income with a multiplier based on societal benefit. If you didn't have employment income, you got nothing from the trust. If you are a banker making 100 g's you get 50K a year from the trust. If you are a social worker making 35K a year, you get 70K a year from the trust. There were some defined jobs and the keepers of the trust were a committee to catch the rest. I liked it because the kids wouldn't be rewarded for being useless tits and they could pick a job they liked and still have decent money without worrying too much about salary. Also, if a generation decides to be lazy, the money grows to support the next generation.

Funny side story: People are leaving angry 1 star reviews for Yankee scented candles because they can't smell them. Because they have Covid.
