Something many gloss over is that as hospitals fill up with people suffering moderate to major covid issues (and then the regular Flu as well as winter wears on) there's less ability for them to do things like treat less ill people, or manage emergencies like heart attacks, strokes, etc etc etc. Not to mention elective surgeries...

It becomes a vicious circle. This is one of many reasons there's concerns about Covid - not just Covid people in the hospital directly, but the effect it has on everyone else needing the hospital at the same time.

I understand the resoning for flattening the curve, that interactive tool at a glance though pretty much shows a lot of the people that would have died anyway this year just died sooner as seen by the dip well below average after the initial covid wave.

I've no problem with that, at all. If I got upset everytime someone here said something I didn't like I'd have ditched the joint years ago.

What I do have a problem with is people who think their mightier than thou and the masses/peasants need to potentially suffer simply because of *their* (perceived, or otherwise) "rights". And then go on to call you sheep and make tasteless remarks (honestly, the Star of David/jewish references speaks volumes about the author) aimed at anyone who is a decent person enough person to actually think of others sometimes instead of only themselves.

That attitude is a huge part of what's wrong with society today.

To borrow a line from a certain science fiction series, sometimes the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few. This is where we are right now.

And FWIW I'm not a Covid hysteric, either. Hell, I deal with so many high risk situations as part of my workday that if I was I wouldn't be working right now. I'm also not one of the sorts who denies there's a potential issue, either, or who trudges into WalMart or whatever and screams "medical exemption!" at the poor kid at the door even when I have no such medical issue.

No worries. There many are other possibilities for the numbers being that way. It could be that the bulge is from when Covid entered the retirement or nursing homes, or people could have realized that it was spreading and taken precautions, or the government crack down had some effect, or all of the above in some combination with other factors not listed. Which of these you believe at first will be influenced by your bias. Which you eventually believe will be influenced by your openness, deep down beliefs & prejudice, other's propaganda, and how much you're willing to learn.
 
Ticketmaster is trying to figure out how to limit concert attendance to those that have been vaccinated. A corporation that has proven itself to be corrupt and untrustworthy at every opportunity having access to a portion of your medical records, what could go wrong?

Also every post of people at a concert allows facial recognition to quickly compile a database of vaccinated people. Like facebook needs more of your personal information definitively locked down and available for purchase/explotation. They could sell cruise ads targeted to only those that were vaccinated based on the concert photos everybody posts.

Ticketmaster has confirmed that they are working on a system that will use smart phones to verify a customers COVID status, including if they've been vaccinated or recieved a negative test.

3 degrees of separation. My wife knows someone who had a sister die of C-19.

What about demographics?

I live in suburbia not a crowded condo. I fear public transportation as many of the riders can't afford to stay home if they are sick. I have the luxury of not having to associate with crowds.

I fear old people that "Can't breathe". F that. If an old conservative Muslim woman can handle it so can you.

Original graph was called weekly death count.
It's way lower than previous years, yet the adjusted number of deaths for the same week is way higher.
Since they both only track until August 22, it's possible that deaths were possibly backdated after the fact or something?

Some cancer drugs extend life by 6-9 months and cost thousands of dollars....a main Alzheimer’s drug only postpones the disease by a short time yet people will buy these things out of their own pockets and rightly so in many cases. Time is priceless. If someone dies before their time because some idiot couldn’t stay away from the gym or a party for a few more months then I'm not sure what I can say.

Someone who is frivolously suing, tying up courts in every state he lost even remotely closely...

Even GOP members are saying that all of his fraud claims are out of line.

You are ill with TDS . Your cure is to turn the TV off . Thinking for yourself is hard letting the TV do it for you is easy .

Maybe you can post a link where the states have posted their official results for the election . CNN does not count as official .
