I started thinking more about this...and this explanation may be too simple and missing some fundamental psychological concepts such as order's relation with disgust, which is one of the root causes of racism along with the innate biological trait to fear what is different (because of different immune systems and the chances of disease.)

In other words, it's not that simple, hence why my brain keeps trying to find an answer.

May as well dwell on the idea that religion affects racism, and once that's solved, direct your brain towards the Israel/Palestine conflict, once that's solved, the Radical Muslim vs. the West.

If you can solve even one of these issues, you deserve a gold star, snowflake-no-more badge, and the Nobel Prize each and every year til you die.

According to the BBC Trump is not backing down from the militaristic crack downs on US cities, even escalating the actions.

Since Trump has taken over the COVID monitoring we can pretty much bet that cases will drop. He will then argue that the border should reopen. We're screwed.
 
According to Trump, the EU doesn't have as many cases because they don't do as much testing. ? Either he really thinks someplace else in the world can't possibly do something better than he can, or it's total political spin. I am quite sure the leaders of Canada, EU, Australia, etc will see through his antics...and then Trump won't understand why they still won't open their borders!

I don't think anyone is saying masks are a panacea. Just the anti-mask argument is used by ********. There is very very little downside to wearing a mask and possibly some benefit. If someone is sick enough that wearing a mask is not possible, they shouldn't be near random people anyway.

lots of different ways into the bloodstream....skin (rare, the skin is a very good barrier to many compounds/bacteria and viruses), sublingual (under the tongue), iv (injected, avoids gut metabolism), rectal (kind of self explanatory), and ocular...some eye drops used for eye complaints can get into the bloodstream and cause issues and bacteria and viruses can occasionally too.

I've been told that many places that posted You must wear a mask signs, aren't enforcing them, as the minimum wage employees don't want to be punched out by some irate shopper with corona, and the stores don't want the liability.

Sure, but there's the prestige of being first. My worry is of someone messing others up to profit.

That's why I'm hoping the British prospect (which is basically the leading candidate at this point) will be the winner. We will benefit as the UK will be sympathetic to another commonwealth, but the UK will also have the moral fortitude to look after the rest of the world and not be evil.

If the USA candidates win, well, you can be sure that several things will happen.

- It'll be eleventy thousand dollars per dose.
- Trump will hoard it all, because 'murica. (Half the population won't take it anyways, because conspiracy, but that's another story)
- Because profits it'll be unaffordable in much of the rest of the world.
