We are ******.

Thankfully you'll notice that despite being in a city the size of Toronto there was...what....100 people there?

Most of the rest of society think these people are batshit crazy. Especially microchip Bill Gates "the government is silencing me" lady. FFS, the Dunning Kruger is strong with some of these sorts....

I hope they enjoy being internet famous.

Surprise, surprise. Despite douggie pleading with everyone not to go to the cottage, guess where he went at easter? Friggin wankers. All of them.

To that mayor concerned about Air B&B I wouldn't be too concerned, if you haven't looked up to the sky lately you might notice the distinct lack of contrails in the sky :|

Well crap...if he can go then surely me (a commoner) shouldn't have any reservations about going...I mean he's here for the little guy right? LoL

Jokes aside I like the way he's handled it, but I'm not fooling myself that he's a change man. That guy is going for PM job soon enough.

Damn. If Mirvish is thinking 18 months before people can safely sit in a theatre that does not bode well for every other activity people used to go out and do.

Mirvish tells ticket-holders it aims to reopen 'Hamilton' within 18 months

Gov't may be making a good decision and telling the CFL to pound salt (hopefully). CFL commissioner said some teams made over a million dollars last year while overall the league lost $20M and they are asking for a $150M bailout. When asked whether he wanted a grant or loan, he talked about paying back through programs and other dodges. When asked why they are talking to gov't and not banks they said because the banks won't give them anything as their financials don't support a loan.

So you want a $150M loan that has zero chance of being repaid to prop up a marginally viable (and quite possibly non-viable) professional sports league? Yeah. Sad to see you go but there's the door. That frees up all the money that municipalities waste on subsidizing stadiums for private organizations as well. I see almost no downside other than a twang on the heartstrings due to nostalgia.

Yup. Pound salt.

The last time I went to a game tickets were $5.00 at the grocery store and the stands were empty. A bag of chips was about the same as the ticket. Argos lost.

Does the CFL think JT is giving so much away that anyone in line automatically gets what they want "To pull us together in these challenging times".

The CFL has to look at their marketing and make the game viable or pack it in.

Well they may be correct about JT's unlimited budget. I camt blame them for trying, I will be ****** if they succeed.

I was going to go to the Argos training camp as a walk-on, but I realized I couldn't afford the cut in pay.

I thought most CFL players had full time jobs as well? Considering the reduced life expectancy from the melon pounding, the pay really sucks. One of the few professional athletes whose lifetime earning potential is actually lower because they played professional sports.

The political motivation to throw some cash at them may be Western Canada. The CFL is still popular there and letting them fail will just be one more western alienation crying point.

At the end of the day, it is a business and many businesses are getting money and I don't see it much different than that, but not $150M...
