no, i just want crap injected in my arm
;) Beats inhaling liquid bleach and swallowing a tanning bed lamp, but it's irrelevant because no such vaccine exists.

My extended family deals with it. Four kids living with Mom and Dad upstairs. Grandma lives in the basement apartment. She came back from Florida 2 weeks ago.
Vapor barrier and duct tape!
My wife tried that on me.
Luckily my hands were still free and I could pull the stuff off of my face.

I'm still working. Mask, gloves, sanitize everything before I touch it.
Moved to a later shift where there are less people.
Wife and kids haven't left the property since March Break.

Come home, clothes in the laundry, straight into the shower.

I can't wait for this to be over, but we have to do what we have to do.

Oh man...I think I inadvertently tried the injection of the disinfectant yesterday. Had a water bottle that I wiped down with the wipes and then took a sip. Think I may have swallowed some of the wipe residue...sweet Lord Almighty. Haven't been that sick in a while. Maybe I'm immune now...

It's probably going to be a fragment of the virus itself and if the vaccine works you have the choice of getting actual virus if you don’t vaccinate and then playing Russian roulette, or having a vaccine and having a very good chance of being immune. It’s also not 100% for you, it’s for the others around you too. This isn’t like the flu remember, regardless of what others say. It’s a lot worse.

I don't want a U.N. Security Council seat, I just want all of our loved ones, that died needlessly, back. :(

If you have family or elderly relatives you would be essentially putting them at risk, food for thought.

Does anyone else feel this whole situation is surreal at times?

I haven't worked in over a month, no income, not much contact with people it's so strange. I'm not doubting the reality of the virus.
I do like the calmness of it all, and the quality amount of rest I have been getting though.

when I watch the press briefings from the uk, Canada and the US it feels like the plot of a slow burn sci -fi movie.

I keep telling my wife: "Most low key apocalypse ever".

I'm curious, are you glad you’re back in Canada for this or would you prefer to have been somewhere else?

100% glad.

The main thing is not having a tourist visa or temporary vehicle import permit expire and then running the risk of not being able to move on to another country or go back to your country of citizenship because the borders are closed. Most countries are good about extending or ignoring the expiry dates though, given light of what is happening.

Also, Canada seems to have fared better than other countries in slowing the spread of the virus. Probably the low pop density, but I think it's because most people here understand what's at stake and aren't placing others at risk. Genteel Canadian attitude vs the selfish American viewpoint.

We'll get back to the trip whenever this virus thing goes away. I don't foresee that happening till next year at least, so we just signed another 12-month lease and we'll hunker down again.

I am going f*cking stir crazy though.

Unfortunately, we're not without our own local idiots.

You should have leased somewhere that has a decent riding area ;)

For sure. But it's a numbers game. More Covidiots down there per capita than up here.

And with a thing like a contagious virus, the 80/20 rule means that those 20% of idiots wield a lot of power over the rest of the 80% who aren't idiots.

You have heard of asymptomatic.

Yes, absolutely. I'm not suggesting we go forth blindly. I'm saying we go forth assuming EVERYONE you're within 30 feet of is Covid positive and we take all appropriate precautions accordingly, whether it be in the grocery store, or sitting in your back yard having a burger and beer with a few friends.

When you assume everyone is positive and treat every situation accordingly, the risks are suddenly much more manageable.

This IMHO is how we should go forth.

Please don't tell me you're one of those people who believes in the mercury & fetal tissue in every vaccine, government mind control things.

Go walk through a century graveyard some day and see how many people never made it to 30 or 40 years old, and how many never made it into their teen years even. We have vaccines and science to thank for our current longevity as a human race.

Not to mention traction control

Yay science!
