O.k. Now look at the dark side.Todays "Looking at the bright side" stats.
The "Best case scenario" outlook generated in mid March for today, April 16'th, was 1150 people in ICU's.
Todays actual stats, 807 people are hospitalized, 248 are in the ICU and 200 of those are on ventilators.
Very few people are being transferred from ltc to icu, they are just dying at the ltc homes . Now, that may be the best approach as their prognosis isnt much better in the ICU and there are some downsides to the transfer.O.k. Now look at the dark side.

I don't think this is unusual -- but it's certainly not the average. If you decide to start a career flipping burgers, you could end up doing the same in 20 years later -- or you could learn and build a decent career. That works for retail, banking, and the civil services.I make more money than probably 75% of university graduates.
Most in the trades can say that.
It's not all it's cracked up to be. College to me seems like a far better ROI in most situations.
Watch to the south over the next few weeks.O.k. Now look at the dark side.
That depends a lot on the boss. I know some bosses draw a hard line and those without a degree cannot ascend above that line. I think that is a bad approach but that's the way it works some places. For some bosses, that line is drawn around their organization. No degree means you can never start working there to show what you can do.I rarely see a degree make a difference when two peers are competing for a promotion.

From personal experience I think this is a horrible idea. I legit failed grade 11 (failed 6/8 courses with a 40% or something average.) The failure was necessary because it resulted in me giving a **** and getting to where I am today.
Ugh tell me about it. I work for a large consulting firm and have been told repeatedly I’ll need my PENG and PMP to move much further up.Lots of large companies--multi billion dollar--(but not all) will have degree requirements either to get in the door or to go past x level, they are blanket HR policies that almost never get lifted. Some even Masters above a certain level.
Not all are like this, but a surprising number are.
Be thankful. I know of at least one large "engineering" company that discourages staff from getting their P.Eng. They have a couple P.Eng stampers that review and stamp. Terrible system. I'm not sure of the logic, maybe to save money, maybe to keep the employees less mobile.Ugh tell me about it. Weird. Depends on the firm I guess. They outsource us for projects so the more letters I have behind my name the higher the rate they whore me out at.Be thankful. Don’t mean we have to let them in. Let’s see how our govt deals with this one.I hear the Americans want to open the border again. Not trying to sound like a meanie or anything, but now that it's closed, I don't care if it ever opens up again. At least for a couple of years.
Trudeau has to put on his best "Angela Merkel" and be really tough about this.Be a world class leader ffs.I hear the Americans want to open the border again.
