People get all upset when they see Police being tough an an innocent, meaning yelling and obviously baseless acquisitions, but it's easier to be calm on the receiving side if you just realize it's a tactic they use as people who are actually guilty are generally nervous and screw up their stories and break down under questioning. After going through customs for many years you get used to the agents (US ones, not so much the Canadian ones) getting all up in your face if you get a question wrong. They're just hoping you get nervous and reveal something you don't want them to know.
