Colorado shooting

Actually, you can.. Remember watching Sons of Guns - zombie gun build (I believe it was S03E08, look it up on youtube, the little .22 was cute) and IIRC they had a 100rd drum in poodleshooter, not .22LR for their AR-->M16 conversion (they built 2 guns - M16 platform for M&P use, .22LR for civvies

They wouldn't even know anything about the gun they're carrying in many cases. By the way, a Chinese firearm cannot be legally imported into the US. Since the Norinco reps selling to gangbangers incident, they put a total ban on Chinese firearms - couldn't take your Type-56 across the border to shoot at a range.

That would have to be one big drum. I have seen a 2 drum set up, but reveiws have said major feeding problems with it. I have a NP 28 double stack and a M1911A1 -P in .45 not a type 56. Don't shoot the .45 too much as ammo is expensive. I'm sure once I start reloading I will use it more.

This may be my next purchase hXXp://www.marstar.ca/dynamic/product.jsp?productid=75660 They just came out with them this year. I am waiting to see and hold one to ensure it is as good as the pic looks first.

I think where the gun control via bans logic fails is it assumes that a guy like this one would have been an upstanding peaceful member of society if he could not buy a gun.

He would just use a different tool, maybe less victims maybe more (explosives).

I think the basic problem people have with guns is the fact that you can have such a small portable lethal item be used without warning to injure and or kill so many people in less than 30 seconds at will. It is not about the humans, we know they are flawed. It is about the instruments.

As with quite a few things, we loose freedoms to protect us from stupid humans.
Clearly there will always be stupid humans and those with mental issues.

It's hard trying to kill 10+ people with a butter or kitchen knife. Please don't belabor the knife point by stating a well trained Ninja can slit the throats of 10 people in 10 seconds.

It was a double drum feed mag.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S6fuvzofsgw Pretty cool, but I loved the little .22LR. Might do a project like that for my wife

Yeah the Norc is a nice little 1911 clone, even though I'd probably go with old school styling. Don't need the extra capacity. Wanna get it more out of historical curiosity.

Only reason I went with the high cap is I have big hands. It fits like a glove. I find others seem small and are hard to grip properly.

I'm small handed so in my case, single column mag's the ticket.

1911s are a thing of beauty. I love how they look and feel... but having had 7 of them over the years, my conclusion is that I wouldn't trust my life to one. Its a finicky design.

For what its worth, if theres one gun out there worth spending extra $$$ on its a quality built 1911.

I agree, but unfortunately I do not have any extra to spend. Hard to justify spending 1500.00+ on something I take out once a week if i'm lucky.

Someone could easily build a bomb that would be discrete, kill/injure lots of people and wouldn't even need to be on scene when it goes off. For way cheaper than buying a gun and ammunition.

I have no problems with guns, or the general population owning them. Crap like this happens. If it wasn't legally purchased guns, it would have been illegal guns, and since he used an assault type rifle, he probably would have picked up something like an AK which would have had way worse outcomes for the people in that theater. Bullets would have traveled through people in to people behind them, through the seats and in to the people hiding behind them, and at a fully automatic rate.

On a good note, bullets #4 to #30 would have gone through the ceiling :D

Prosacution is seeking the death penality on this clown. I hope they get it

They need to drop all these "hug an emo" programs and start deporting them. Third slash you're out.

Wut? Are you speaking generally out of ignorance, or just specific to this latest mass-shooting?

This James Holmes is US born in California - what are you going to do, deport him back to his Mommy's womb?

It was a joke, referring to Ford's "hug a thug" and deportation comment.
