I’m not a religious person but, I don’t think it’s as simple as this.
As a father of both daughters and a son, I’m always concerned. Not of what they wear, how they look but how they approach sexual relationships with others. In the moment, most young folks are lead by hormones over rational thought. Birth control might not be top of mind for either party.
If abortion is simply thought of as a way of birth control and can occur at any time during the pregnancy, that is a concern. Not only to the woman.
So the question is, what is acceptable or not?
While I disagree with the Texas law, it may have some give it more thought to wards how and when they engage in sexual activity.
Again, I’m not a pro life advocate and believe Canada manages abortion pretty well.
And this isn’t to argue with you. It’s just a thought about the point you’ve made.

Its a bit of a stretch to suggest there’s a subset of people who actively opt for a surgical intervention on a regular basis as a lifestyle choice. This is what the conservative right paint the situation as but the reality is very different.
Luckily….we also have the abortion pill and right now there are organizations ramping up the ability to supply those anonymously to Texans. The fundamentalist right appear to have not foreseen the advent of technological and pharmaceutical progress.
