I don't like that as soon as you get citizenship you are signed right up for free health care and an old age pension. A friend of mine brought his Vietnamese parents over here, which is cool, but when I asked him why he said so they can receive the old age pension lol. Now that is ridiculous. You haven't paid into either system but you are now reaping the benefits. To be entitled to free health care or the pension, you should have to put in at least 10 years of work that has been taxed. I've been paying into it my whole life, as have my parents before me.

Oh really? I was unaware of that, because they got it apparently. Does it matter if the relatives have already been here for that time frame? Because from what he told me they moved here, filled out the paper work, and the cheques started rolling in. Sure it's not a ton of money either, but it's the tax payers money, I'd like to think it's being used to better Canada.

Once again, what is the color of the people that are 99.99% in charge of those companies.

There are restrictions and timelines to this. Also, the amount of money rolling in, wouldn't pay for our coffees most months, let alone to live on.

But yeah, I hate fraudsters as much as the next guy and absolutely if you want something out of this country, you have to put into it, otherwise too bad.

I'm a content producer and my company used to do some work for them. Even for Post Production work they insisted that we not use local Toronto companies like Technicolor or Deluxe that are 5 mins down the road on Richmond Street.

One thing I will say about the CBC though - clearly this doesn't apply to the regular engineering or support staff - is that management have by far the best expense accounts ever.

A few years ago I had a meeting with them at NAB where they took us out to the SW Steakhouse at the Wynn. Nothing like a $200 Tomahawk chop with a lobster tail and a few $500 bottles of wine before heading off to the Hustler club for bottle service.

I know this is all Canadian taxpayers money and I really felt guilty..... for about 30 seconds :)

:lmao::lmao::lmao: That response was hilarious.. Dude I read everything. My buddy was telling the the KKK went and started their own "party" so I read up on it. Then I see a guy posting almost literally what I read off their site. I just referenced it.. thought it was funny. After seeing a plane smash into the ground for no reason, this seemed silly.

EDIT:I am not white, and would still hire only based on skill.

The CBC have always had their own agenda.

I am/was a dyed in the wool Liberal (ok- let the flaming begin), I thought Turner and Chrétien were great statesmen, heck I even voted for them when Iggy was in charge. I comment regularly on cbc.ca about political issues and until recently have always had my comments published.

I do not believe that Trudeau is the right person to lead the Liberal party. Frankly I believe that he is too immature, he sounds and behaves like my 12 year old son, and I very politely commented on this several times on the cbc.ca web site. These comments were never published and I emailed them to ask why. They responded something to the effect that they didn’t like to publish right wing rhetoric. Bizarre as in the posts I had mentioned that I would probably vote for Mulcair's party next time if it came down to a choice between him and Trudeau.

Clearly you cannot comment on anything that does not correspond with their world viewpoint without being censored; although presumably it’s OK to comment on women in men’s locker rooms.

I have long since given up watching programs like The National and having to listen to Mansbridge make snide, sarcastic comments about Mulcair, Harper and even Jack Leyton when he was alive. Hey Peter, you’re suppose to be objective and professional. If you want to see how it’s done go watch some old footage of Lloyd Robertson, he was the ultimate professional.

The quoted post above really annoys me though. I don’t normally comment on stuff like this but am just incensed. The CBC rake in $1.1 Billion from the Canadian Tax Base and around $400 million in ad revenue and blow it by taking their suppliers on the town in Vegas, with the night ultimately culminating in one of Larry Flint’s sleazy clubs.

Priceless.

Let's be real. Harper will win this again. I am not a fan of Harper but the guy has managed to keep the country on even keel thus far.

He is very good at keeping things quiet.

The only chance they have right now to come close to causing Harper to worry is by pumping and beating into the brains the debt and massive spending we are about to undertake of easily $20+ billion on fighter jets we have zero need for.

The Liberal party needs to get rid of everyone above middle management.
They clearly are just wasting time and insulting their own party.

They use our country and come and go as they please... Yes I am white but the thing that pisses me off is, if that job listing said any other nationality, **** wouldve hit the fan...
