Canadian Tire - Curbside experiences

Two more drive bys today. Situation fubar. Lineup still crazy long. Not worth stopping. We are now three days into five day window allowed and havent had an opportunity to do pickup in less than hours. Not sure if we are going to be able to actually get the order.
That's crazy. It would be quicker to have the pickup order at another store in a smaller nearby community and go for a nice drive there and back. Yeah, I know you're not supposed to be travelling blah, blah, blah, but desperate times require desperate measures and if the order is small enough take the bike.

If I had known they were this screwed up, I would
not have ordered from CT. It is my last pickup order from them for sure. Boggling that it is this bad more than a year in. I dont know what the issue is, my guess is more staff serving cars are needed. Parallel pickup instead of serial pickup is also required to process the volume they are seeing. It could just be my local store but by definition others are less convenient so I would have sunk 40 minutes or more into a pickup even if there is no line (and if there is yikes).

Drove by again. Lineup same length. I counted cars to see if I was being pessimistic in my assessment and I wasnt. There are 40 vehicles in line today. That means there have been 40 to 50+ everytime I have looked.

Canadian Tire in Cambridge never has more than 3 cars in line. I just did a pickup from Guelph probably 12 cars took maybe 5 minutes. Home Depot is sit and wait usually over an hour.

Sent from my Chesterfield using my thumbs

My worst experience to date has been the ToysRUs in Mississauga. Holy hell....I don’t understand how it can be so difficult to space out the parking spots for pickup. Idiots parking so close to each other I couldn’t fit my odyssey into a spot.

Worst **** show around for curbside.

This is what I said Saturday when I was there to pick up an order. Only 6-7 cars in line in front of me and 3-4 waiting in spots in front of that. Order took about 30min for me.
Looked like only 3 staff helping people there. Not terrible really but at HD my wait is 5-15min and that includes picking up 400lb tool boxes. We here in the sticks don't have much lines usually.

My experience has been pretty decent. A matter of a couple of hours at most between time of order and notification the order is ready.

Oddly, I did get a reminder notice this morning to pick up an order that I already picked up a few days ago. Might just go check out what happens for ***** and giggles.

Wife drove buy 30 minutes before they opened and there were 16 cars in line. Fubar.

Finally broke down amd waited in line. ~40 cars in line. One employee was car wrangling into parallel lines and then remerging to keep cars off the road. Why they dont run the stacking back and forth across the parking lot instead of that nonsense I have no idea. Throughput was better than expected. 34 minutes to get to a person to scan the qr code, six minutes more to get the stuff. They could double the staff to half the waiting time. I wont be doing that again.

Go at opening or an hr before lunch. Alternatively I go at closing.

Today I tried before lunch. Wife has driven by 30 minutes before opening and there were 16 cars waiting in line already. Driven by at many different times and it is always similarly crap.

Went to ToysRUs at lunch today....I was the only one. Less than 5min from parking in the spot to driving away.
Yeah cause you’re the only jerk buying toys during the stay at home order. 😂

You have failed me for the last time MP!

But I haven’t bought the video game yet!

Did I say ToysRUs!? Crap...I meant CT for essentials....like a soccer ball....or motorcycle oil. Yes that’s it, moto oil!

Before lunch is pretty vague. I would say at least an hour. You get those people (like me) who sneak out early to try and beat the lunch line. Which obviously creates a pre lunch line! 😎

I was there at 12:00 so maybe got lucky. I know evenings whenever I drove by (Hurontario / Eglinton location) it’s jammed.

EDIT: whenever I had curbside orders at HD I would be there at 6 or 7am first in line just to avoid the lineup. But I’m effed like that. Will do anything to avoid lining up for anything.

You might have to suck it up and just wait, doesn't look like that situation is going to change. But surprised it's that bad.

I placed an order with the crappy tire yesterday.
It was supposed to be ready for pick up at 4pm today.
I saw an email at 2:30pm saying it's ready.
Got there, called up, da da da dah da.
I stated up the timer on my cellular phone.
2 minutes 45 seconds later, the young fella brought my **** to me.
That's about 4½ minutes I'll never see again.

Christ my experience with Home Hardware has sucked. Called two different stores a total of 5 times trying to order one quart of polyurethane and no one ever picked up. Ended up ordering it for pick up online, shows 5 in stock at the store. Its been a week now and haven't heard anything.

Online ordering and pick up sucks. I hate everything about this

Home hardware was in the worst position at the start of this. Their website was horrendous and most items were call for price.
