Canadian Tire - Curbside experiences

Funny that you guys made this thread...

I have to buy an HVAC filter. Home Depot's website looks like it was made by a mid tier co-op student (the USA one is FAR better.) Canadian Tire's website works like an old business man who doesn't know **** told their devs to implement some popular security lingo like 2 auth while cutting corners everywhere on functionality.

......I hope I get my filter tomorrow but both are not impressive lol

For a company the size of Walmart I cannot stand using their site. It’s almost as if it’s made this crap on purpose so you have to visit their store....ToysRUs is the same. CT is way better than it was. But overall all the big box stores are similarly bad.

I got my last bunch at www.furnacefilters.ca at the walk in store 140 Advance Blvd, Brampton

This is what happens. I need a tool, I buy said tool, then I find the tool needed in another container.....I am a tool!

Inventory needs to be done. But I just don’t want to.
@hdsomeday You guys need to move more often. Nothing like a dumpster full of "I didn't know I had ones" to lighten the load.

Well they have their own currency after all :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:
It was gold years ago at 5%. I once had about $200 and used it to buy new trailer tires. It's gone now due to covid but had dropped to 0.5% as they were pushing digital. It'll probably never come back.

There was nothing quite as annoying as being behind someone and finding out they were paying for their purchase with a gunny sack of CTC money.

Even Canadian Tire was concerned because a lot of people hoarded the stuff. So many that if they all decided to cash in at the same time it would create a cash flow problem.

Seven or eight years ago I was at a rally in Arkansas and there was a charity auction. For kicks I had taken my CTC money envelope and threw it in as an auction item. There was only $17-18 in it but it sold for IIRC $30. Another Canadian was there with his wife and she was an avid collector. He wasn't happy.

The auctioneer was a hoot. At another rally he got an Irishman to pay $35 USD for a set of deer whistles.

Ordered some stuff yesterday for pickup. They said it would be ready by noon today, got an email at 9:30 saying it was ready. Good so far. Wife was out so she swung by to pick it up, line in front of her was very long so she aborted and will try again later. She figured 45 minutes or more, not sure how she came up with the expected wait time.

And you wished you had a 24" pipe wrench in your basket when the cashier pulls it out and you saw that it wasn't sorted into stacks of denominations.

Ordered some slotted angle pieces at HD in Milton on Friday afternoon and still no sign of pick up email.

Ordered a street hockey stick and hockey balls for my son on Friday evening from CT in Milton and it was ready for pickup my noon on Saturday.

I once heard a story that there was a black market for the CT money.
Apparently people in the Kazakhstan region thought it was real Canadian money and used it to trade.
Sounds plausible but not sure how true it is.

You guys take your Canadian Tire seriously
I'm just triggered by the number of Canadian whine articles about businesses going under when the common denominator involves "we have no idea how to build an ecommerce website but let's blame the lockdown."

Then you see the bar these big corp sites set and it boggles me even more lol

But whatever, it worked. And whoever said Walmart's site sucks....yes it does!

Canadian Tire Stouffville garden Center - needs improvement.

Just bought some potting soil

Thought everything was going great till it was time to pay. They scanned all my stuff outside then sent me into the store to pay. 1 cashier working and the poor gal looked like she was in training. Took 40 minutes to clear 9 people ahead of me in line.

Then I had to put my car inline to pickup the goods - fortunately that went fast.

That purchase would have been in and out inside 5 minutes, took just over an hour.

Advice for CTC Stouffville - wireless payment terminal.

Probably about the same plausibility as fooling Americans that the loonie was real gold....

As for CT the only thing that ****** me off is when you return something, and they take that amount from your refund because you don’t have the CT money in hand you got as a bonus for purchasing said item.

Did a drive by 30 minutes ago. Pickup Line circles entire parking lot. Probably 40 vehicles. Based on past experience they turn over one every few minutes so that line is hours. Didnt even bother pulling into parking lot.

A buddy ordered W/S wipers from CTC and they gave him the wrong parts. He has to hold onto them until returns open, make sure they're in returnable condition which means putting them someplace safe which means he will forget.

Our CT is horrible for this....only 6-8 spots, and they're so slow. Personally I've called from the parking lot and not even a spot. Just give them the car ID and tell them I'm outside and whenever they get to me is fine. Usually get it within 10-15min.

Two more drive bys today. First time line was three sides of parking lot, driveway and six vehicles on road in front of store (what is the matter with people, that's dangerous for no good reason). Second time was three sides of parking lot again. I don't know if there will be a time within my five day window where I can pick it up without allocating hours to sitting in the car. That's pretty bad at this point.

Two more drive bys today. Situation fubar. Lineup still crazy long. Not worth stopping. We are now three days into five day window allowed and havent had an opportunity to do pickup in less than hours. Not sure if we are going to be able to actually get the order.
