Canadian Motor Speedway

At least we are hearing positive news and forward movement. I'm happy to be patient and wait for it to happen. It can only be good for the area especially Fort Erie and the racing community as a whole. Sounds like the ppl with the money to build it are stepping up and as long as they follow through through then it could happen.

No, turn 4.

If you make a mistake in 2 it will probably end badly. If you make a mistake in 4 it will end badly.

From what I understand they had to pull Glenn's bike out of the woods with a winch and no has yet.found the ECU and tail electronics.

What is wrong with 4? maybe I'm not going fast enough, but once you find a marker, its just a matter of hitting that marker every time. probably one of my favorite corners

Post # 24 summed it up best.

It's because you're not going fast enough.

For sure 1:37 is not fast, but I would argue that if you don't hit your turning points any turn at any track can be dangerous, turn one at TMP to me is way more dangerous since if you going fast enough and you make it to the hill you are flying in the air up that hill, don't see the deal with 4

Just my opinion

I think the layout and grip at Calabogie keep it fairly safe. I feel comfortable pushing my limits there because the track itself has my back. Shannonville and TMP have bumps and potholes right on "the line".

Crashed in 20 back in 2010 so I know firsthand that you still have to keep your game face on at all times...

I crashed at turn 2 and walked away, i did another track day three days later.

I'm sure Turn 4 is not as forgiving.

Crashing at TMP is like a falling down on a bouncy castle in comparison.

I still have no idea how anyone crashes in turn 1 at tmp. It's an early brake, early throttle corner. If you screw it up so badly that you make it to the berm I would say there is something very wrong with what you're doing out there.

If you tuck the front halfway through 1 at tmp you slide across some pavement then some grass. If you tuck the front in turn 4 at Mosport you will be into an armco guard rail at a very dangerous speed.

Being local I can tell you that they are having a ground breaking ceremony this year (so tops guys tell me) and it will be a 2.5 mile orad coarse. It's all over the papers here and with the Gov't people (we know how they are) and I've spoken to some paving friends who approached the track for work, but were told it must be union companies...........will be great to be 5 min. from home.........

I never really paid attention to how Turn 4 is laid out on the sides, and where exactly my bike went or how it "disappeared" from view. But yeh it was lost for a bit. And yeh, the ECU disappeared. :( Apparently I slid a long time (after I left asphalt at 200kph or so) on left side, THEN I hit the hay bales hard enough to make them explode. That impact broke my neck/back and destroyed my right shoulder & arm. :'( Turn 2... seen guys go off there and slide a lot, some even broke their legs. But I think people have DIED at turn 4. Glad I'm not one of them.

Not to mention that since Mosport is focusing more and more on cars, that brand new tarmac is going to get rippled so badly from high hp cars that without upkeep in 2 years time it will be unridable for bikes.

Pity about CMS - the home owners have only their neighbors and their city/town councils to blame for the butt ton of delays and meetings etc etc.

If I was an investor/builder I'd pull out of that region after the showing that's been.
