And no, no interested in making a Civic a drag car. I just don't hack on them for wanting to make a cheap fun car to "take it to the track with".

You seem to think making a drag car and bolting on a bunch of garbage fiberglass wings and scoops is the same thing so I'll just consider who I'm talking to and say...

The original point was if you aren't on a SS, knowing the W/P was a good tell for whether to take on a stock Maserati, Austin Martin, R8, or all those Bentleys you see downtown. No point in using the throttle against anything worth less than ~$150G's anyway.

This thread has gone on about burners and why someone would even acknowledge someone driving a modded car is beyond me. A Civic driver has already made a string of consecutively poor decisions that put him in one in the first place, and so it's pretty clear he's going to do something stupid if you give him even the slightest opportunity.

I had many many runs drag racing to get into low 11's. I think my best was 11.3
1st time at the tree I pulled a 13..didn't know what I was doing. VTR is a great bike to drag, great low end power and easy to be consistant. I actually made $ because I could do 11.5-11.7 all day when I raced in bracket racing.
I dragged a R1 numerous times and he was anywhere from 11 - 12.5 ...hard bike to launch.
Funny I just bought a 2010 R1, should be interesting to see what I run in it.

My TLS was a hard one to launch as well. If it means anything in comparison to the R1, being an uncontrollable wheelie machine is MORE fun to drag even if your times aren't as good.
