Your comment about the civic is dead wrong. I know guys in the 10s all motor. You would be surprised how little money it takes compared to other cars. Every combo has been done in the civic world. It's as easy as ordering parts bolting them in cutting weight and a good tune. Not much rand d needed
Agree. I didn't think it was that hard to google something in this day and age You find ghetto builds that run in the 10's all the time.$8K in and you have a drag civic to take to the track, if that's your thing. Stock block and head B16's can do it with boost and some tuning. It won't handle worth a **** and won't last since it's probably running ~ 20 PSI but whatever. Also, remeber that a controlled 1/4 mile track time is useless in the real world.Nobody runs track times on the street.
First off, that 400 hp civic isn't in the 10s. That's an 11.5-12 sec car at best. FWD kills the launch.
People are lying to themselves by looking at these "numbers" from the magazines. In a 1/4 run, a Z06 will give any 600SS a hard run. It will launch harder, bike will catch it coming up through the gears, and near the top the vette will start to pull on the bike.
Despite what it might look like, bikes have higher air drag coefficients compared to cars, so sure we might beat them in lb/hp on paper, but throw in drag once you get moving you really lose the edge there too.
My fz6 might not be a SS but it's close enough, and I know for sure there are cars out there that will give it a dusting.

Light to light who knows who will win all depends or rider and driver and equipment Now highway pulls I can say this my buddy's cars rape bikes. Someone is always faster in this game. Quick story. One night coming home in my buddy's import 750hp plus with almost the same torque. We run into a pack of bikes ranging from 600s to 1000s some of these momos decide hey I'll drop a gear and show this import well guess what we give this 600cc bike a beating easy 20 car whole shoot. So a 1000 pulls up thinking I will show him. Well all we did was turn up the boost to 40psi and bye bye. Then we run into a zo6 and we got worked we asked the guy in the zo6 what's that car make 1200hp. We never seen it coming just goes to show you someone's always faster. 3 major factors play into effect driver/rider skills money and if it's off the light or a highway pull.
I will agree with how fast some cars will launch...I use to drag my VTR and would pull low 11's...I've raced against bikes, cars and sleds at the track.
I was beat by a civic once but not by much, I got him on the 60ft but he pulled on me after that and did a low 10....talked to him to after (he was putting bags on ice on his intake), I had to ask as he beat me. His car made 500-550 depending on tune. It was not street legal.
Have to lose weight to Tandem skydive, but don't think I'd bungee. Done the swing thing at Wonderland however.
I prefer real diving to either of those.
All the vids ive seen on youtube of "400hp" civics they were running between 11.5s to 12.5s. There is a HUGE difference between an 11.5 and a low 10 on the strip.
Exactly. I also had a friend that had a 525 hp supercharged Mustang with a racing transmission. His car would do 12 flat in London (he would go faster at that track than Cayuga) and do an 11.5 with his wider race tires on it and smoked up.
The 400 hp Civic driver is smoking crack and you can tell him to quit his lies right to his face.
Also, when comparing power to weight to a car you will want to add the rider weight into the mix as it's a far more significant impact than the drivers weight.

It's fun making tough muscle car guys look silly, that's why. I'm a car guy and like anything that's fast. RICE however isn't cool and ANY car can look stupid, I've seen some hideous domestics (lol just noticed that's a ford probe so I guess you were using "rice" in the proper context).
Let's be honest, anything done right is nice. Bling, performance, whatever. When we take a Civic (I like the car and it's hardly a POS as someone posted) and throw an F1 wing onto it and slam it so it sits one millimeter above the pavement (or a pick-up which is even worse) it becomes an object only a 5 year old should like. It's an embarrassment that anyone old enough to drive actually paid money to get that look. BUT, that's what makes the world go around and if it gives me a smile, that's good. And if the owner loves it, so much the better. I won't slam anyone who does this until the blatant lies start flowing.
It's when people (fools) go out of their way to tell you that their 600cc sportbike has done 180 mph (idiotic at best) or their 400 hp front wheel drive and otherwise stock grocery getter pulls 10 second quarter miles that is insulting. That becomes a huge insult to the intelligence of anyone who can actually read or has experienced these things in person.
I once had a friend that was called 'Disney' for all the stories he spouted and expected you to believe, and unfortunantly the world is full of these people. I will not understand the need for soft headed tools to have to impress those around them.
With that logic I would like to say that my close to stock SV1000S will outperform a top fuel dragster and have a higher top speed than a Veryon. It's so fast that I can actually travel backward in time.
and the rest of your post was useless.
I still stand by the comment of spending retarded amounts of money making a crappy car faster, when they could just buy a better car to begin with.
the fact that a picture that is posted with it, doesnt mean this is the only car that i am talking about.
most of these cars are about 5 to 7 k, then they "fast and furious" the **** out of it.
i guess its easier for them cause most still with mom and dad
