Day 1- prepped my street bike. Getting ready for intro to track day @ tmp.

Day 2- first time at a track. What a feeling. Learned a lot and pushed my bike further then ever before. Dragged my knee for the first time ever.

Day 3- got a last minute invite for a quick 2 hour session @ mosport. Pushed the bike even further and almost wiped out. Then right after someone with an identical bike high sided. Still the best day on a bike I've ever experienced. Knee dragging consistently and smooth most corners.

Day 4- sold my street bike. She was amazing and great looking. Too good looking for the track tho. Sad and excited at the same time.

Day 7- after 3 restless sleeps I finally was able to take the trip to Kingston to pick up my new track bike. She ain't a looker but she got lots of good parts on her.

What a crazy week for me. Can't say I miss the street yet but who knows. Might get another street bike later on.

I rode to work today and as much as I enjoyed riding on the track, I can't see myself giving up street riding. Ever.
Congrats on the new bike, man.

I don't see the thrill anymore. I hate riding straight for hours to hit 15 mins of twisties. Thanks tho.

In the same dilemma, seriously considering a track conversion

Just sold my street bike as of Tuesday. Once u ride track, Roads get monotonous. A bit sad but can never recreate the felling of the track on the street. And I've tried ....

IMO, riding a bike is not all about cornering/twisties, I enjoy going for the evening cruise, the Sunday ride, the small friends/group rides.
Yes, riding the track is amazing and it's addictive. I'm already booking time off for my next track day, but I just don't see myself giving up street riding.
They're two completely different animals, and they're both awesome in their own ways.

I agree and disagree. I found it hard to just cruise on a ss. I would get quite bored and tend to do silly things.

+1

Mina if you enjoy it and can afford it that's great. More power to ya. If I had the spare money id have a street bike too. What I'll miss is the occasional weekend rides to places I would never go and the new people I meet. However I do stupid things that I'm not proud of, on the street and I cannot afford to lose my license (literally). I'm thinking about getting a bobber or cafe so I'm not so tempted while just going for a cruise.

It's a long winter break October to May when riding track. Good idea to buy a different style of bike so can you still puttering around on the streets.

Yup ill probably do this end of this season so I can grab a good deal and see if I'd actually miss riding street.

I have more fun on one soar weekend to last me a whole month without even thinking about the bike. and I rode 10 k a season on my street bike. Don't miss it one bit. No regrets!

It's been a week since I rode. Starting to get that itch.

I spend quite a bit of time prepping my bike and getting it ready for each time I ride it at the track that I'm too busy to ride on the street. I rode from Newcastle to Oshawa and realized why I sold my street bike, it's boring now.

I guess you eneded up buying the cbr, congrats and time to take it apart and inspect every inch of the bike before your first ride.

Yes I'm doing that now. All the fluids look good from my inspection. Even the owner said after the sale the fluids are good. At that point he didn't really need to lie. Should I go ahead and change them anyways?

Also I can't seem to get the belly fairing on. The cat and exhaust pipes seem to be in the way. Is it ok to track with out it. All the fairing on the bike are solid and won't go anywhere.
