Bye bye street bike!!!

True, but I can get those views from my car. I could also take my lunch, snacks and drinks, change of clothes and a bathing suit, three friends and my dog.
Damn, I should have got an Edge instead of a Santa Fe lol.

I guess it depends on what kind of riding you like to do, I started at the age of 11 doing motocross, then as soon as I had a license I got an Enduro and my favorite thing to do was ride down the coast by the beach (south america), I did not get into sports bikes and "Speed" into much later in life. So taking a ride without being caged in a car, taking the turns and seeing the views without glass in front of me brings me back to those times.

Racing is for focus, adrenaline and the accomplishment of performing and getting better.
Riding is for relaxation, peace of mind and nice views.
Cars are for going from A to B in the straightest line possible as fast as I can without people pissing me off.

Each person is different i guess and i do believe that it depends on your beginnings.

yep you should. You're a nicer guy in person then on the forum.

If you are who I think you are, I should apologize chasing you for a couple of laps at TMP on 22nd (2nd or 3rd session), then passed you between turn 1 & 2 on the outside and hit the bump---I'm pretty sure both of my wheels where in the air, lol. Probably spooked you a bit, sorry.

I think he is a really nice guy in the forum as well, haven't meet him in person.

I mean he asks a lot of questions and he is way to detail oriented but that is not a bad thing.

I think people just gang on the guy, but I am also a dick so to my standards he is a nice guy

all of you guys sound like you have a soft spot for *****. how cute ;)

Lol I've hit that bump too. Motocross stylz

I really can't believe it's you. The carbed kawi guy with no belly pan pitting next to me was a very nice guy who gave me useful advice about my forks and explained how I have less suspension travel due to cranking up the preload, also other useful tips. Had pleasant chat too. That guy was nice and friendly. FriendlyFoe on the other hand is bashing me a little bit too much than deserved---read my posts again, I doubt you'll find me giving terrible advice and insisting I'm right. Like I said---I mostly ask, not tell, lol. As for changing the fork oil, of course it degrades---there's no doubt it's even better to change it between every session, right?!

PS.I still can't believe that was you. Guess people always have a different personality on the net (should probably include myself in that group, dunno).

Definitely me :p not going to hide behind my avatar with the comments i've made. I'll admit i'm probably quick to snap at people on the internet where as in person i might be more likely to start a discussion. It's not that you insist on being right, it's more the fact that intermediate skill level riders shouldn't be giving advice about things they dont fully understand.

No, changing fork oil after every session wouldn't be better, it doesn't degrade that rapidly. For a pro racer they might want it done after every weekend, or after every day, i really dont know because i'm not at that level. I will say that your fork oil should definitely be changed every season in a track bike because it will degrade over that period to a point where it doesn't have its original damping characteristics. This is a bad hobby to try to be cheap with, for the 150 or so bucks it costs to have them torn down and freshened i consider it basic maintenance.

I will try to play nicer on the interwebs.

I remember you from when we went to Jennings. Going on about practising your "backing it in" and other such track heroics. I believe that Jennings trip was, if not your first trip to the track, one of your first. I don't remember seeing you back anything in the whole trip (apart from your arse into a restaurant booth). I mean, you talked about it so much I assumed you were talking from vast experience and not "from what you've heard".

LoL i dont remember the context of that specifically but i'm sure i rambled on about various nonsense. As an intermediate rider i was more guilty then anyone of trying to give advice and talk about things that were over my head. Without getting horribly personal growing up has been a we'll say long process for me, i came back from that trip not being entirely content with the way i behaved socially. I'll just leave it at that, still figuring it out and try my best not to give advice thats over my head. I should probably be more tolerant....

here I was working on my bike to get it ready for mosport and come back to this thread to see it go down to *****. It seems that the track forum is the new trash talk.

Back to wrenching

Man, everybody is going to Mosport this weekend, I feel like such a pussy. :(
