Lest anyone say It’s ridiculous to even think that’s a possibility, you’ve been sleeping through all this - both Trump and Vance have openly threatened *exactly* that.
 
So, a 30 day reprieve and then we go through a new negotiation, make additional concessions, and get another 30 day extension.......... and so on.

Sounds like pretty token stuff to me honestly, and he can call it a win (which is the key to all negotiations with him), and with any luck we move on with our lives.

But knowing what we know, I don’t think this is the end. Our only hope at this point is that all of the other shenanigans going on with musk and whatever else we don’t know about ends up blowing up in some other fashion and consumes all the oxygen in the room.

And by that time we will probably have a new PM and everybody will have to find someone else to blame for these sorts of decisions with JT no longer there. Poilievre talks a big game, however how much he decides to run his mouth when he’s actually the one making the decisions and having to explain the consequences to Canadians if it goes sour remains to be seen. I am pretty sure he is going to quiet his bark at that point.

Not really. 1.3 billion $ put towards border security.

$1.3 billion dollars was announced for border security on 17th December 2024 by Trudeau.

So, no tariffs were required but president big brain has now destroyed any trust and spurred Canada to seek other trading partners. What a gigantic twat.

As for Mexico, Biden had Mexico agree to 10k soldiers for the border without any threats of tariffs back in 2021.

So again, no tariffs required plus Mexico got concessions on stopping the flow of weapons across their border from the US side. Again, what a giant waste of skin this orange prick is,

They should 100% remove trade barriers between provinces….i didn’t even know we had them. Thought it was open provincial borders.
