Bus Monitor in tears due to some 12 yr old punks .. ( gone viral)

You must be Dutch... I used to get the belt when I was a kid. I assure you, kids react to pain and change their behavior to avoid pain. I also think kids need a healthy fear of their parents, fear and respect tend to go hand in hand. I'm not saying parents would have a free-for-all, beat-your-kids bonanza, but discipline is sorely (pun intended) lacking these days.

What the heck is with Dutch parents and wooden spoons? I can still hear the sound of that thing smacking off me in my mind, lol

You know I don't normally toss my 2 cents into the ole pissing pot, but this video is just proof of where things are headed. God damn people pumping out kids like there is no tomorrow and then failing to do anything with them after the 15 minutes of drunk on cheap wine lust is over. To add to this the little punks that were visible in the video will be on the news soon claiming that they were victims and some fat kid made them do it and the parents will be there with there grubby KFC eating hands out waiting for a fund to be created in their filthy kids name so he/she can get a new Xbox. This world lacks good old fashion beatings, not the beat up by a bunch of low budget homies for your new iPod but the kind a beating only a parent who cares can give the child they are responsible for, when I was young even the thought of such a act brought fear into my heart knowing what would happen if I was caught and not these little morons capture the entire act on video and post the god damn thing on youtube, not only are they terribly raised they are friggen tards to boot, first rule of crime is DON'T GET CAUGHT. I hope that lady gets every penny and spends the rest of her days driving by the houses of the people that did this with a megaphone screaming "Who's the ***** now!". I hope these kids are never allowed to forget the torment they caused, I hope it affects every aspect of their loser lives from girls/boys to school to jobs. I hope this one event this one act of ultimate cruelty hangs over them like a fart in a phone booth and that the payment for such a act is a long and slow one..

No doubt the parents of the kids shown/identified in the video are looking to sue someone for some money. No doubt they will sue the bus monitor if she does get all that money actually given to her.

As sad as it it's you're probably right. It's not the kids that are the problem - it's the parents. I have never had to hit my children to discipline them they are generally well behaved and respectful. They also know I will take a slipper / belt / whatever to their ***** if I so choose.
When I was married to my Ex she had a problem with corporal punishment and didn't agree with it. I made it very clear to her and the kids that she doesn't have to agree with it for me to decide it necessary. Last thing I wanted was for the kids to think they could hide behind mommy.

Parental punishments live with you forever. I'm thirty and to this day I never give my back up to my mother. If she does get behind me I tense up wating for that smack to the back of the head, even if I have done nothing. I never got a real beating as a kid ( and I mean a REAL beating) but what I got I probably deserved and it is more then likely shaped the way I conduct myself to this day.
This is my signature

LOL, u guys had it easy.

I've gotten beaten with an electrical wire. That schit stings.

I was warned never to go fishing off the dock unsupervised

The video broke my heart!
It's such a shame that this goes on, and these horrible kids get away with it because they know parents can't discipline them forcefully. Even with this video the kids have anonymity due to their age and what ever 'punishment' they get will be nothing compared to the hateful ugly words they used.
My mom would've killed me if I did what those kids had done.
I really hope this opens a lot of eyes and makes people re-think how to punish their kids. Obviously the 'go to your room/no tv etc' isn't working.

any pictures of these rotten kids? the whole world should know who they are.

Just take a gander around your own neighborhood. Disrespectful kids are everywhere. It just so happened that this particular incident got caught on tape.

I don't believe in corporal punishment. I would never lay a finger on my kid. Even kids who are this messed up I don't know that there wouldn't be a better way. There are a lot of **** parents these days it seems. You should need to take a course and get a license to breed. I actually feel sorry for these children because whomever has guided them into being the creeps that they have become may very well have scarred them for life.

I can't say I agree with you. Not totally anyway.

Kids need to be resistant to peer pressure and stand on their own two feet and conviction of knowing what is right from wrong.

There is a small part of me though that feels at least one of those kids is enduring a mental pain and is lashing out at whom ever they think they can and get cleanly away from it. Poor Karen happened to be her victim.
Which kid am I referring to? The one that said at least 3 times that I was able to hear clearly, about rape. "What are you going to do to me, rape me?" Then I think I heard another parrot or two say the same. And is how bullying spirals..it's sorta related to riot mentality actually, and how that can spiral from the actions of only one.

So it doesn't take much further imagination that that kid has been/is being raped and is in a level of mental pain. For this reason I certainly don't agree with your reserve of capital punishment. I think if kids are being hurt and it can be proven beyond any shadow of any doubt, kill the gene pool right there.

Anyway, it is not my intention to direct the responsiblity off of them for this horrendous behaviour. Only suggesting that there could well be deeper issues here at play. Unfortunately.

edit - ok i see u said corporal against the kids..got it..
I still stand by my capital tho against anyone hurting a kid to the degree of physical abuse like rape etc

I agree with killing people. I don't agree with hitting kids as a form of discipline.
That being said if a parent/parents/guardian gets a positive result form using physical punishment as a form of discipline with no negative side effects, ie; kids grow up to be moral, contributing members of society, then good for them. It is just a slippery slope and an unnecessary one.

It seems more like things are getting worse over time than better. As time goes on, physical punishment became increasingly frowned upon. So as physical punishment decreases, the quality of children also decrease.

You don't just randomly beat your kid for doing something wrong, but kids need to understand there are repercussions to bad behaviour.

What would you do instead of physical punishment to your kids if you found out one of your kids were on this video?

Send him to his room to play video games for 8hrs

These kinds of things are just being the norm. It's just sign of the times that world must (and will) come to an end. These kinds of kids are the VAST majority (in the developed countries) and they enjoy all the societies protection. I don't believe it's all teacher or the parents' fault. It's just that kids being born today are getting that 'you are special/unique' BS ideology from all angles and they are brainwashed by that. Which basically entitles them to perform crap like this incident.

Don't get me wrong. Some kids and teens are just plain awesome. But they are in VAST minority.

So glad I don't have kids. Being childfree is just as fulfilling as being a parent.

30 years ago if the cops called the parents and said their son was arrested the parents would flip on the kid.

Today if the cops called and said the son was arrested the parents would be calling their lawyer and yelling at the cops about some form of discrimination.

That's the difference today.

Until you can talk reason to a baby I will keep believing in coperal punishment. It's for their safety. It has to start young. If a kid reaches for a lit candle and all you do is tell them no, what's going to happen? The kid needs to equate pain to it.

I believe the bigger problem today is that parents want to be friends with their kids.

I will tell you this, if I found out that was my kid, he would get punched in da face. I would hate to do it, but a parents job is to raise a respectful productive member of society.

my mom used a wooden spoon on me :p

No Not Dutch just French lol and i agree 110%

What the heck is with Dutch parents and wooden spoons?

The wooden spoon knows no cultural/religious barriers! Mine broke her spoon smacking me. Having grown up during the depression in Scotland, she had my father sand down the handle and continued to use it. I found it in the utensil drawer when I was cleaning out/packing up her stuff, LOL'd, and threw it in my utility drawer for S&G.

I think you nailed it. I think it's common to have one alpha-male type kid who instigates this kind of incident and his lackeys who (unfortunately) look up to him and join in on the bullying. The dynamic is no different from girl cliques either. Nothing is more important to kids that age than being cool and fitting in. It takes a special kind of kid to resist the cool crowd and groupthink and stand up for what is morally right. Unfortunately, they are few and far between.

This type of behaviour is nothing new. But it's the parents' reactions these days that boggle the mind. I have stories from work that would make your head spin.
