Yup, but they have under body coatings plus the steel is treated as well. Bikes do not have this advantage, it's just paint or powder coat and/or stainless. Scratches/scrapes will expose the raw metal to the elements.
uhmmmm, don't be so sure about that. I'm pretty sure all sheet metal for automotive applications is zinc-coated. Besides, it's only the gas tank on modern bikes, anyway (if that).
If corrosion affects your modern bike; it'll be on metal brackets for things like lights accessories and fairings and in/around the hardware; esp. areas where there's non-plated fasteners threaded into Aluminum. I think most parts are plastic, rubber or aluminum anyway.
Noticeable corrosion on a "leisure" vehicle will hurt your resale badly, as there's a high chance that there will be another bike in much better condition.
