Bought a 2012 Ninja 250r

I have the spare, the other key is in the bike at the dealership. They are just washing and waxing it up this morning and i will be picking it up this afternoon.

Nice, have fun! Ride safe

and be sure to kick up all the way.. I shifted into neutral instead of second yesterday and revved up good and high then jerked back into second.. haha how embarassing. It was my first bad shift, and it happened right as I was riding away from my buddies house who I just went to show the bike lol.

Will ride as safe as I can. Have my route home mapped out, nice and slow and nothing too crazy. Highest speed is 60kph. Once I get home I'll relax for a bit and really give Ninja a good once over and then head over to work to do some parking lot drills. If I feel ambitious I'll head down to the parking lot where RTI has it's course on the week and do some more practicing.

Well I picked up my Ninja today! Was so nervous when I first got on it. Had a hard time getting the feel again. Only stalled it once and that was when I was turning around and popped the clutch. After the first 15 mins I relaxed and was on my way. Kept to city streets and suburbs and never got over 70kph. Stopped off at a few parking lots and practices slow corners and fast breaking. Will be practising more on the breaking tomorrow. My biggest issue is the bloody direction signal !!! I am slowly remembering more often to turn the damn thing off after a turn. The only thing we never used at RTI were those as most bikes had their turn signals missing.

Rode about 50kms this afternoon and can't wait to get out there first thing in the morning. Have plans at 10am so I should get a good 2 practice ride in. Here are a couple of pics for now.

Will post more later.

That's one sexy bike. I quite like the candy green on the 250. Also, the ninja stickers make me really wish the previous owner didn't remove mine. I've got my **** together and order up some replacements from eBay.

She's puuurrdy :) Congrats on the purchase!

BTW, about the Candy Lime Green... I've heard a few dealers now saying they're running low on CLG 250s, just like you experienced. Personally, I think it's a sales tactic to either a) try to rush the sale, or b) try to clear inventory of the less popular red and black models (i.e. "Sorry, could be a while to get a green" "Oh, ok, I'll just get the red"). Any opinions?

Lovely. Enjoy and be safe.

Ur not alone... Lol! Don't understand why someone would ever move them.

To OP, congrats! Wow a brand spanking new bike! That looks beyond sexy. Enjoy and ride safe!

I may remove the Kawasaki someday. For now I'll be leaving it.

Thanks!
You could be right depending on the dealer, hard to say to be honest. My guy was able to get the green without issue though he did only see "two" on his system. He also told me not to settle for the colour I didn't want and to get the one you do want. If you have to wait.... then wait. Anyways, any dealerships I talked with all had the same message and that was the greens were slim on inventory and hard to find. I had my bike in a week from they day I ordered it. They could have had it ready earlier in the week but needed more time to get the insurance and the rest of my gear.

I am so glad I got the green though, I pulled up to the dealership and she was parked out front. The colour is absolutely amazing in the sun, no picture can do it justice. I even saw one in the showroom 2 months ago and I still can't compare the colour.

Lovely. Enjoy and be safe.
Thanks!

Went on another tour this morning. Have plans the rest of the weekend so now I will likely not be riding for a few days. :angry1: Though I think my body could use the rest. Amazing the different muscle you use when riding LOL, either that or it's just my age showing.

Well since I wasn't riding this afternoon I decided to blackout my windscreen.

Will pop it back on after it dries overnight.

Didn't get a chance to ride today but I did get the windscreen placed back on. Much better I think.

I did a DIY fender eliminator on 2012 Ninja 250, removed the plate and the light, placed the plate holder where the light use to be and put some led light screws that i picked from Royal for $13, its not as slick as the kits but for $13 i'm a happy camper.

I may attempt this tonight or tomorrow night. How you wire up the led light screws? I have reviewed tons of DIY FE for the 250 so I am fairly confident that I can do that part, just don't want to mess up the simple wiring.

HEy! thats my bike you!!!
hehehe welcome to the Candy green Team :) enjoy and see you on the streets

Just remove the light piece and run your wire up to where the factory wire clip is, and then slice up the wire a bit and join the wires from the led to the connector on the bike. I had to make a hole on teh oval factory light holder to put thewire through.
