Well with my M1 and M1 exit completed I made the leap of faith and bought a 2012 Candy Lime Green Ninja 250r. I can't go to the MTO to upgrade to my M2 for another 30 days but my insurance is fine with that because I did complete the safety course and passed my M1 Exit test. Had a hard time finding the green, guess they are getting low in inventory everywhere but my sales guy found one and they should have it next week.

So see you all on roads soon enough!

Congrats and welcome to the club !!

If you already don't know, soon will be realizing what a golden site this is.

Have fun, and good luck sleeping off the excitement.

Congrats and good luck... really hope you don't get bored to fast with the 250..... but enjoy:cool:

Thanks! Ya I have been lurking for a while here and have done lots of reading. Likely one of the reason I went with the 250 instead of a 600 as my first bike. This week will be fine but by next Wednesday sleeping may become an issue.

Congrats and good luck... really hope you don't get bored to fast with the 250..... but enjoy:cool:
Thanks. I think this bike will last me at least 2 seasons if not longer. After doing my RTI course I realized that even those 125/150s they are likely more than enough bike for what I plan do be doing LOL. As much as I love the sound and look of the 600 (my 600 option was the 2006 CBR600 F4i) I think the 250 will more than meet my needs for a year or two. After I get more experience I will decided what to do then. I am well past the age where I need to show off or get over the highway speed limit in 2nd gear.

Great choice, and way to stick with the green :)

The 250 is extremely versatile, lots you can do with it. Short trips, long trips, dirt roads, etc. It's always more fun to ride a slow bike fast than a fast bike slow. I miss my 250 sometimes when I'm on corners/twisties.

I agree with riding the slow bike fast mentality for sure, one of the key thoughts of why I went 250 instead of the 600

Welcome and enjoy....
"get good before you get fast"
Thanks and that is exactly my plan.

Nice pick :)
Thanks, made my day :D

Awesome! I got a 2012 as well, I went for the black/yellow though :)

Congrats, the 250R it's a great bike. Athough I upgraded recently, I was nerver bored of the 250R. The bike is amazing in the twisties and has more than enough power for everyday street riding.

I agree, although I am itching to upgrade to a 600cc bike, the 250R is still enough to get me up to 140 on the highway @ about 9500 RPM (or so I have been told, I wouldn't ever speed myself ;)) and I am overweight, so if you are normal sized you could easily get up to that or more..

Good job. And welcome. I got a 2010 recently. Have fun and stay safe.
Thanks :)

Nice, I wasn't a fan of the the stripes on this years SE. Now if they would have reversed that colour scheme, like yellow bike with black and grey striping I would have been all over that (one of my favourite looking bike is the 2003-2005 Yellow Honda CBR600 F4i with the black graphics) Still congrats on the 2012!

This is where my thinking is right now, I may change my mind in a year or two, in no rush right now. Time to enjoy.

Ya, I would say I am a leaner person LOL. Might have hit 40 but I have tried to stay off the beer gut. It needs to stay off too as I just ordered a small Icon Overlord Prime Leather jacket.

Nice pick. I got an '08 in June in original Kawi green! Love it
I wasn't sure about the newer Candy Lime Green but when I saw it in person I really fell in love with it. I could have actually gotten a 2012 Red for much cheaper from another dealership but went with my gut and got the one I wanted.

Not hard to see why these bikes sell so well, great starter bike

Yeah, the candy green is pretty sexy! I'm not a fan of the red as much.

Picking up mine in black on Tue, was not worth buying used, too expensive.
Congtats! Ya I didn't wan't a used one as my first bike and at least when I go to sell it in a year or two I should get a good price.

congrats... like it better than the new cbr..
CBR was okay, FI was a great perk but I didn't think it was as sporty looking as the Ninja.

The red is nice but I have always thought that if I got a bike it would be a green Ninja of some variety.... once I saw the green there was no other choice for me.
