Bang and Olufsen is Danish isnt it?

Yes. Assumed it was German since I've only seen it in Germany. Don't own any.

Perhaps you should follow the advice in your own posts.

"Advanced OS", as in caught up to its contemporaries "advanced"? It is certainly nothing ahead of Jellybean!

Advanced as in............. "Android doesn't have platform security down to the chipset," Erdmann said, and BlackBerry does. "In Android, you're not able to ensure the operating system has not been manipulated."

Samsung can coin all the fancy terms they want like Knox and SecureSafe, but the reality is Android and Apple OS's are highly compromised and best for entertainment value only.

BB10 will retain its position atop the enterprise market.

Has been playing with the alpha device on and off for couple months... from BB7 ->playbook ->BB10, eash step there's significant improvement, but not enough to battle with iphone and android. I'd say if BB come out with something similar to complete with the iphone 3 back in the day (not performance wise, usability wise) There might be a big 3 instead of big 2...

As a developer, I actually enjoy building stuff off WP8 more than BB10. Waiting for BB deploy and signing is pathetic.

So how about that gorilla glass? Shouldn't bb be making phones as robust as everyone else?

I still don't buy into the "Gorilla" glass marketing hype. Sure its good, but it doesn't mean competitors aren't better or can't produce a competitive product. I don't care if Cornings been doing it since the 1800s.

Japans Asahi glass company's "Dragontrail" glass has been proven to be stronger than Gorilla glass.

"Gorilla Glass still scratches and even breaks on occasion, incidents which promise to be significantly less frequent in the future with mobile devices that feature the new Dragontrail."

Move over Black Betty - Apple Does It Again...

Apple announced today that it has developed abreast implant that can store and play music.
The iTit is expected to cost from $499 to $699, depending on cup and speakersize.

This is considered a major social breakthrough, because women are always complaining about men staring at their breasts and not listening to them.

So it managed to stem some bleeding and retain 100 of it's previous customers? How many did it lose? The company I work for, the largest commercial real estate company in the world is handing out iPhones to replace bb stock. I only know of one individual client, vendor or colleague who has requested and now uses a Z10.

Only saw one Z10 in use in public either. Sad.

It's not like all cell policies went up for grabs the day that BB released th Z10. These things will unfold with time.

I hate to be the bearer of "bad" news, but BB has won this round. It's over. If the substance of criticism is what they do in a year from now, or how many companies use their products in the future, then this battle is over and won, and it will see them through to the next round down the road. For example, the stat about half of new BB buyers coming from another platform. That can be good or insufficient, depending on how long it lasts and how many move away from BB. But it points to the success of the Z10 already.

Of course, if BB does nothing for another year, fail to innovate, slip back into their old habits, they will start to suffer from it again. Time will tell, but in this round we've had enough time already to see that the Z10 launch has been a success for BB.

Ah, but Gary, only one truth is becoming increasingly evident.......owning anything Apple and Samsung are like staring at breasts.

When you own a BlackBerry 10, its like you actually get to fondle them! Its great.

.

In Waterloo, all reports are that its THIS statistic that has them doing high fives, as they seriously understated the amount of "platform switchers" would be coming to BB10. They estimated that they would be selling mainly to BB loyalists and business users. They were blown away by these statistics, and this is the reason why they experienced shortages in stock. They seriously underestimated this.

This also blows away the theory of users tied down to "app ecosystems". Regardless, the app system for BB is growing at a fast rate with some major apps being released this month.

Percentages of those coming from a rival platform :

New BB10 buyers consist of;
50% Canada
33% UK
60% UAE
45% India

You realise it's been 1 1/2 months since the launch, right? There isn't a business in the world that turned itself around in 1 1/2 months.

Merely stating that BBRY were blown away by initial response of platform switchers. You would think users of other platforms would adopt a wait-and-see attitude, but it appears droves of them moved to bb10 immediately. Impressive.

.

All they've done is bought themselves more time, which is the very least they needed to do.

Black Betty got a nice 10% pop just before noon on the Lenovo buyout rumour.

Upgrade coming soon... going to get a Z10. I'm bored of mine and still want BB features (have an android tablet and I hate duplicating devices).

Bell has a pretty good promo on right now.

$45/month
1,000 anytime minutes
unlimited text messages
150mb data
free picture/video messaging
call display
voice mail lite

I'm sorry, but that's absolutely terrible. 150mb is next to nothing for these current gen phones, it will probably suck that down without you even doing anything, I would not recommend going with anything less than 1gb.

Call your cell phone provider, tell them you're going to quit which will get you transferred to retentions, then bargain from there. Redflagdeals has a few threads discussing current retentions deals

For reference my current retentions plan from Fido is $55 plus tax

250 daytime
unlim eve/we from 5pm
unlim Canada long distance
call display/visual voice mail
unlim text/mms
6gb data

But Betty needs China during "record breaking smartphone sales":
(notice Lenovo's position)
A leaked research report from Strategy Analytics has confirmed what many had been predicting: Samsung leapt forward in 2012 to become China‘s biggest smartphone vendor for the first time, and just four years after it started selling mobile devices in the country.
According to South Korea‘s Yonhap News Agency the research report (which has not been made public, according to a Strategy Analytics spokesman) states that Samsung has nearly tripled device sales in China last year, selling 30.06 million smartphones in 2012, up from 10.9 million units the year before. The company now has 17.7% market share in China.

This marks a significant conquest for Samsung, since China is the world’s largest market for smartphones and among the most rapidly growing. Smartphone shipments to the country increased by more than 75%, year-on-year to “record levels” in the fourth quarter of 2012, the research firm states on its webpage advertising the report.
Chinese electronics giant Lenovo came close behind Samsung in second place. Apple moved back up into China’s top five smartphone vendors, with an 11% market share, while local vendors Huawei and Coolpad took 9.9% and 9.7% respectively.

Black Betty got a nice 10% pop just before noon on the Lenovo buyout rumour.

Apparently, the pop was due to an official US date release, March 22.

Personally, I think you'll see a "partnership" before a full buy out with Lenovo. Also rumours about BBRY shacking up with Sony for Japan market.

Sprint has announced they'll be carrying a new full touch upscale BB to be launched in the second half of 2013. Google "blackberry Aristo" if you want to know about it.

Things are certainly looking up for BBRY, esp if they have a decent US launch.

Next few quarters will be interesting to watch.
