Bike Stolen!!!Brand new 2011 Zx6r

Its unfortunate your bike was stolen but hopefully insurance sorts you out right and you are not out of pocket in any way.

Its just too easy to steal a supersport and find a good use for it once its been taken - make it a track only bike, part it out, ship it.

If you really want a bike less likely to get stolen, buy a cruiser. I'd like to see two guys and a van try and steal a 870lb HD Electra Glide Classic.

lol true, I was actually thinking about a cruiser it sounds fun.

Then you're stuck:
a. riding that thing
b. looking at that thing
c. annoying your neighbours with the sound of that thing
d. paying for that thing
e. paying to keep that thing running

I'd rather walk.

Regarding the comment about the cops not doing anything about it, I agree. I have no problem with cops in general, but they always have the time to sit with a radar gun. Any time something a little more involved confronts them, they don't have the resources.

Here is a video of the bike to show how it looked like.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bgkuMJejs2Y&feature=youtu.be

It happened today between 10AM - 5PM in Etobicoke. I bought it brand new about a month ago from Kahuna. The bike had only approx. 2800 Km. Good thing i have full coverage, so hopefully insurance won't screw me too much.

Oh and it was stolen from an underground parking lot with security cameras of course. Don't have the video from the super yet. Also i called the cops and they didn't bother showing up, just said that the super should send them the video. WTF do we pay taxes for, for them to eat donuts!!!!

Ah well my pride and joy is gone. I had so many plans for next summer. FML.

You pay taxes to to pay more stealth taxes; to have them book you for 145kph on the DVP and then do interviews about it in CTV within a couple hours.

A guy going 55kph over on the DVP is worth: cops in attendence, the courts, a tow truck, a news crew and air time.

This happened yesterday by the way.

You forgot about the very big danger of falling asleep while riding that thing...

lol Yea i know, but i am posting the video after the bike was stolen.
yea but you are buying a replacement one aren't you? I agree wiht Jamie on this one

Also, if you are buying a replacement one, they will come back in a few months, you better have a plan B for it

i understand your frustration, but lets be realistic... what can the police do?
Come by, dust the area for hand prints? look at the video ASAP? do their JOB!!!! I don't know

I am sure one of the ****** bags doing a speed trap this morning, could have taken some time to actually do its job!

****ing cops, hate them

NO!!! i want you to pay them to get on their $%#@ a** and do something about it. You call for a small domestic dispute 10 of those $#@! will show up. Its not just one bike stolen, so many have been stolen in the past month, something MUST BE DONE!!

AND DON'T TELL ME AGAIN THIS WHAT CAN COPS DO BS, if you have nothing to say just shut it!!!

Don't worry about OpenGambit, he's just a forum troll (add him to your ignore list)

You had a beautiful bike, sorry to hear about your loss!

cops showing up for domestic dispute = ongoing situation
lost property thats not even worth that much = not even close.

haha you expect full CSI type stuff for what? a $10K bike?

yeah, **** happens. That's why we have insurance.

Sorry to hear about the bike. Definitely have a plan B for the replacement. Stealing replacement vehicles is more common than people realize.

I think 'neighbours' are annoyed at the sound of any motorcycle.

I can't remember the last time I heard about a bike theft that wasn't an SS. I wonder what the numbers are for dual sports and sport-tourings. I wonder if a KLR650 or like a KTM 990 would fit in the back of a caravan?

yeah, **** happens. That's why we have insurance.

The problem is that **** happens so often, that it can run into the millions of $. There are obviously rings involved, not just opportunistic theft, so that makes it worth of police notice if not the CSI $5M investigation to find out who killed a hooker.

It's not for a $10k bike, it is so that they catch the thieves that possibly stole hundreds of these $10k bikes, driving the insurance premiums up for all of us...
The insurance companies will make sure they will recover their dough...they're not out there to help us, they're in it to make $$.
Cops need to do their jobs instead of burning fuel and tax dollars idling in parking lots for no reason.

I'll use that defence next time in court for a speeding ticket.

"speeding over 20 = not ongoing situation not worth that much", and I'm sure I'll get off scott free.

Seriously, you never hestitate to stick it in someone's ribs whenever you can and claim "that's the rules" then dismiss "the rules" when another opportunity pops up to kick a man while he is down. You seriously have troll issues.

That's the thief's mantra.

By the way, in the UK I reported 2 drunks knocking over my bike. Cops showed up, fumbled the hell out of apprehending the vandals, then asked if they could dust the bike cover for prints the next day to build a case. I told them they pushed it over with their bodies and I am not sure a cloth bike cover even picks up prints. None the less they showed for a dusting.

In the end a Justice told the police the trial wasn't worth pursuing as the chance for conviction would be low, so the cops, after doing a decent job, dropped the charges and took a drunk 20 years old's chav word against 3 older professionals who witnessed it.

Part of the problem is the courts don't like losing, or bothering with crimes that net no profit. The system is broke my friend. But at least the cops in the UK made a good show of it.

Here, why bother?!?! Don't bother collecting evidence in a criminal case, when they can score cash on their word in a traffic case.

Like I said....stealth tax.

Fak, is that a new condo theft hotspot?

So far the hotspots are:
Square 1
Scar Town Centre
Yonge & 401
Parklawn

and now....Kipling and Dundas

I need a new bike, thanks for a shopping list!
