He probably did and they were fine. Then chipped the paint while mounting tires and decided it was somehow TJ's fault. Then he found 'other' flaws.

Just a hypothesis.

This.

OPI just left TJs shop after picking up 2 sets of bodywork. I cannot say a bad thing about the workmanshipor service (other than I actually had to pay for my paint job).First, I am in the paint and coating business. I have been for 25 years. I am by education and training a coating inspector. I have been accepted many times in Ontario courts as an expert witnesss for paint and coating issues.Second I saw and ivisually reviewed your body work that you weren't happy with. I have seen photos of the rims before you picked them up. I saw your photos that you first sent and now I see your photos that you attach here. What I see are chips in the finished paint job that now appear to have been touched up with a red paint that does not match the original paint.I conclude that you accepted the finished rims and unfortunately you accidently chipped them. When it was pointed out to you that this was the case you attempted to paint over the chipped areas with a non matching paint and have know changed your story from these spots being "miisses" to "deficient works"Your story and attempts do not sit well with me.

Hello there Mr expert witness
Are you in the GTA to meet and look at the wheels for ur self ?

Who mounted your tires ???? ..

Sorry but do u see mounted tires in the pictures
I like how ppl assume crap and only siding with the person they know
As I have posted the wheels are here for anyone willing to inspect them
The new owner has agreed to meet with a member to clear things up
I rly don't like all this attacking me with out the facts or any prof
specially when i'm willing to provide prof

My Fireblade bodywork that I picked up at TJ's shop last night just happened to be the same colour as your wheels.....and looks fantastic I might add. When I dropped fairings off, I wasn't sure what shade of red I wanted........but once in his shop, I chose the colour based on the gorgeous Ducati rims that I spotted in his shop. I looked them over, and they were like glass! I was amazed that he even had the coating machined off of contact surfaces for a perfect installation on the bike. TJ is a very thorough guy indeed. Just made me happier I chose him to paint all 3 sets of fairings for me.

At the time I had no idea whose wheels they were, I just loved the colour and they looked better than OEM finish to me. Way better even than the Brembo wheels on my KTM.
Looks to me like someone was a little less than vigilant putting them into the trunk, or maybe tried to test fit them and dinged them against a caliper on the bike.....and is now trying to blame the workmanship instead of his own indiscretion and get a freebie.

Seems the orig poster has a habit of sourcing out work, accepting items back, happy enough with them to leave the shop...then afterwards, coming up with complaints and reasons to require a refund. Not a repair, a refund. If a customer is TRULY unhappy with a job, they would prefer a repair rather than a refund. Zebras and stripes and all that. And even though, in my mind that would qualify the customer as a theif of sorts, TJ even went way beyond his duty, sucked it up and gave you more money back than he kept? The money he kept wouldn't even pay for materials and machining.

Lets say, for conversation's sake, that I have already spoken to the last shop you posted a glowing review of, then later, you called him and threatened to post up a negative review if he didn't return at least $1000 to you? Many of us aren't new here, or new to motorcycles. Stop before you dig that hole any deeper. Go find a rock. Crawl under it.

and as far as Daves shop i stopped dealing with him cus he ripped of a member here for $800
and also ripped me off for a full year of cell phone service that i have pre paid for him as a favor since he had no money and work was slow
i had to recover that with my credit card company
and again i have all the prof of that

please get ur story strait cus i have it all on paper

The plot thickens...

Dude if i can call you that.... I don't know you from a rats whole in the ground nore do i no Tj... From what i can see and read my bet is a attempt was made to install a tire or caliper and you chipped it.....If your as ANAL as you say and you didn't take the 5 mins to look over the rim prior to leaving the shop and signing on the dotted line..Your the idiot...... my 2 cents anyways

Well here is my opinion of his body work (cheap but not fast) can take months, he could beat any ones prices here but if you expect exeptional work....depands. Last job was gas tank it looks like painting and sand blastin was done in the same room, leaky paint some times. Parts drop off make sure nothing else attached to them stuff will be missing. I guess im too picky, you get what you pay for perhaps.

i have offered 3 times for any one on here to come and look at them
yes my mistake for not doing that when i was at the shop but it was late and i wanted to get home its almost a 2 hour drive

this is correct but i did offer more money for him to be more careful
also offered him to take his time
