When you have no valid arguments any more and have to resort to ad hominem and name calling. It's sad really,

What about bill C-16 and all the senate public hearings and massive people's disagreements with the amendments? Did he care? nope.
How about motion M-103 and people's opinions and polls? Did he care? nope?

If honorifics, labels and pronouns and ... are no big deal and not damaging, then why change it in the first place am i right? And just for the record and so you dont paint everything with the same brush and devalue their points because they may disagree.... I'm not a conservative and have never voted conservative in the past I was always a left leaning centrist and i was not a Trump fan however when the choices were him or Hillary, i would've gladly voted for him, knowing Hillary's history, specially the hundreds of thousands of civilians who died in the wars she started (or voted for) in Africa and Middle East and then laughed about it.

But as i said, unfortunately the left has left the left and the pendulum once again swung too far in the other direction, forcing the right to come more to the middle as the political ground shifter under our feet.

And JT seems to be the pinnacle of radical left and identity politics which is doing nothing widening the gap between different groups in society and pinning them against each other as advisories even more.

Many were much more sympathetic to the plight of minorities in the past than they are now because they no longer view then as oppressed groups, they view them as groups who are now the oppressors and are pushing their ways on the rest.

The topic of this thread is that employees have been asked to perhaps use gender neutral terms. They haven't been told that if they don't their families will be shot.

Must is not a 'perhaps' or 'if you would' type recommendation. It's an order.

That's forced speech. One of the traits of any dictatorial government. You are free to speak but only if you speak the pre approved koshered language and ideas of the government.

And of course im not saying Canada is now the same as North Korea and we're all on our ways to jail lol I'm saying we are slowly moving in the direction of government controlling our speech and thoughts and using the force of state to punish anyone who strays. Even in our private lives. Look up bill C-16 and motion M-103 for further evidence.

Duclos went on to say that agents will continue to use honorifics such as Mr. and Ms., providing the people they're speaking to agree to be identified with those terms.


"Now, when there is uncertainty as to how Canadians want to be respectfully greeted by Service Canada agents, Service Canada agents will politely and respectfully ask Canadians how they want to be greeted."






The uncorrected guidelines rule out using terms such as mother and father because they are "gender specific" and say the neutral word "parent" should be used instead.


The same goes for honorifics such as Mr., Mrs., and Ms., and in both languages. Instead, the guidelines instruct employees to address customers by their full names, or to ask them what they want to be called.

its a big problem when the government starts controlling speech, Trump may be a clown but at least they still have the right to free speech on that side of the pond.

10-15 years from now when people are going to jail over saying the wrong word publicly you will be able to trace it back to today, to bill C-16 and to small changes as the government doing this as "harmless" as instructing their employees to stay away from terms like Mr, Mrs, Father and Mother

to play devil's advocate, in perspective calling people nigg3r, ch!nks, towelheads, etc was common occurence but was just common usage back in the day. Right now it's seen as bigoted and ignorant.
This change might be in the same vein seeing the direction we're going
 
Bit of a stretch, those were and are negative and insulting terms to begin with. Mr., Mrs., etc are honorifics and meant to be and show respect. The few seconds to ask someone how they want to be referred to will just add up to longer lineups.....a few seconds at a time. :)
