anyone hired a personal trainer before?

Im still not understanding why anyone would pay for a personal trainer....

You can always get passes with free training sessions included if you need to learn how to use certain machines...or just google it.

As for motivation...go to the gym for a month, look in the mirror, see the gains, and get motivated

Not everyone can just get motivated or lift correctly even if googled. That's why. You may know how to use a machine but may not understand proper weight amounts for what you're trying to accomplish. Certain machines are similar to each other but that doesn't mean the way your buddy does it is what you should do too. I took my friend to the gym a few years ago because he asked me to. I was able to show him basics but suggested that talking to a trainer might help him more than I could. 6 months later he dropped 45 lbs and was much better with things like his diet that I had nagged him about for years.

This thread (and I don't mean your post personally) is turning into the typical mentality just like a cop thread. F the police, f the personal trainer blah blah blah. While I don't think that everyone may need one that doesn't make them all raging juice heads who know nothing.
