Anyone have an interesting off-season project?

I'm starting next week to freeze colored water into tinfoil loaf pans overnight, about 100 each night.

I'm building an ice castle in the yard!
going to backlight it at night. May turn into an igloo and issued a challenge to my girlfriends. We may be pushing 50 but we act 5.

The trackbike has been sat in garage for a season, prob should do something with it too!

Cleaned up and put the tail section together. This girl has a big ass.

Ebay chinese copies of the stock rearsets. My stock right side is twisted. I'm surprised how good these look, and for $70 bucks shipped from Guang Dong province...

Spoke too soon. Right side peg is cross threaded, and the powdercoat had to be wire wheeled off where it goes through the rear brake.
The rest of it is fine.

Had to use some non-bent stock parts with the china copy brackets.

Better than this bent mess.

You could bend that back easily. See the soap trick in the tech tips.

Beyond the single cam project I've been pestering the tech section with I'm hoping to convince the Squeeze there is time to ride to Tuk and back before she wants to head to NL with RV next summer.

Good time to remove the exhaust valve while you’ve got the tail apart if you haven’t already. Thing weighs a bunch.

Servo motor is long gone. I've got the dash "chec" light to prove it.

Any way to flash that or put in a resistor? I have to do some research. You said you had one of these.

Pull out pin #30 from the harness under your seat.
If you’re not sure which pin that is there’s lots of YouTube vids that show the process. I had put Yosh exhausts on mine and they always showed in the instructions how to do it.

Winter project for me is to master Garmin Basecamp. I used Mapsource years ago, and when Basecamp came along i was baffled.
Not going anywhere, but it's the thought that counts.:)

There’s a 6ish part YouTube series from a bmw guy that shows quite clearly and simply how to use it. Couple episodes have to do with the bmw integration part but most of the series should be really useful for you.
First episode is called “Introduction to the BMW Navigator 6”. Couple episodes in is where it’ll be useful.

A little like listening to Mr Rogers, but this guy is easy to follow.

I'll have to look for the soap trick.

Tried map gas, a bench vise, and a rubber mallot. No dice.

Rub bar soap on the part. Heat it with a propane torch. When the soap goes dark brown or black it's warm enough to bend without breaking it.

Do you have a link to the BMW guy? I'm no getting very far.

If all else fails, read the God damn instructions.
