Added this to the stable: 1977 Harley-Davidson FXE Shovelhead (been converted to an FLH). Hasn't been run/ridden for 6 years. Should be running by the spring.
It was a bit of a mash up as it had the later Canadian forks and footrests on it, but the frame and motor is a 84 so that's what it will end up as. Its all stripped and the frame is actually in quite good condition.
I just made a start on the motor as normally all of these have shot crank seals due to ethanol in the fuel and you have no choice but to strip them. This one didn't disappoint. The crank was on its way out as well and the crank pins were all pitted. I always budget for a crank and seals as they almost all need them unless they have been recently restored.
The motor on the left is for this bike with a genuine new Yamaha crank that are actually now a little cheaper that Hotrods. The one of the right is my race bike with the Billet crank
