Anyone Going To Port Dover Friday 13th?

Hey all, as this will be my first trip to Dover, I have a noob question for all of you that have been in years past...
What do you do with your helmet and riding jacket/gloves ect.?
Do you leave them on your bike in the hopes that no one will steal them?
My bike doesn't exactly have the most storage capacity, ie: none.
Thanks.

Just leave your stuff with your bike. There seems to be a pretty good honor system at Dover. I even bring a pair of walking shoes & leave my boots with my bike.

I wouldn't leave an $800 dollar MotoGP race replica helmet and Knox Handroid gloves laying on your seat but anything else should be okay.

Wow...Ok. My biggest fear is that my helmet will be punked then I'll be screwed for my ride home.
Another noob question, is there any specific area that sport bikes park, or is it free-for-all?

Pretty sure it's a free for all. If you want a decent spot, I would recommend getting there early.

As for stuff, I bought one of those 6ft long cable bicycle locks that I carry in my backpack. You can loop it through a jacket sleeve and through the helmet opening and lock it to your triple tree. Helmet on tank, jacket over top. Keeps your helmet concealed and locks everything in place to keep the casual #?it disturber from messing with things.

This is a good idea. I saw a lot of people do that in the past.

Awesome idea! Greatly appreciated! Looks like I'm heading off to Crappy Tire for one of those.

Every bike there will have gear just sitting on it. The whole town is bikes, I've never had a problem leaving my gear out.

I'll be there with a group! Probably heading there morning-noonish from etobicoke.

Trying to convince a buddy or two to go. Hopefully see some of you guys there if the weather cooperates.

l am interest in going there but will be after 2 p.m., if any sport biker wants some company pm me and we will arrange meet up spot. first time goer... thnaks

This will be my first time. I'm headed down with a group from TO, meeting some others on the way in Oakville, Hamilton and St. Catherines. I think I might be the only one in the crew not on a cruiser. :p

Anyone have a link to a live cam in Port Dover... I know it is dark now.. but judging from the steady stream of bikes heading south all day today.. Thursday.... there must be a pretty good crowd there already!!
still tonight [11:30pm thursday] single, and large 8-12 rider groups riding south of Cambridge

found it! http://www.gtamotorcycle.com/vbforum/showthread.php?138824-Live-Cam-of-Port-Dover

There are quite a few bikes here already, lots of people still walking around, and enjoying the beer tents. If I head back downtown I'll snap some pics and throw em up for ya

Watching the cam, looks busy

Saw a group of cruisers (maybe 10ish?) and a lonely GSXR-600 on 400 South and highway 7 today at around 9:30am xD

My thoughts on my first Dover experience. The drive there amongst huge packs of hundreds of bikes was the coolest thing about it. Big eclectic groups including Harley's, Japanese cruisers, sport bikes with a sprinkling of Hells Angels.

Port Dover itself was pretty lame. Just a bunch of venders selling mostly ugly tacky looking leather gear and accessories. Couple of beer gardens with 80's rock and metal cover bands. After 3 hours we were ready to bail.

The ride home was cold as ****

Would I go again? Probably. But mostly for the ride. Not so much for the Friday the 13th experience.

I should also add, that if you are into scraggly looking old white dudes and weather old biker chicks, or are one, you would probably appreciate it more than I would.

Yup, there's a lot of hard looking women there.
