I'll be going with the group.

Is there a GTAM group meeting up Friday morning for the ride down? I could tag along until HWY 3 and split off.

There is apparently a flat track race happening, not sure where exactly but it may be at the Simcoe fairgrounds, if I find out the details I will post it up.

If you haven't need to a PD13, especially on a nice warm day, I suggest you go. There are bikes of every flavor.

Gonna go....again...this time on a cruiser.

Flat track racing is at 4pm at the Simcoe fairgrounds, $15. The track is a half mile, so it will have some good speed to it.

Probably hit Dover, get tired of the crowd and then go watch some racing. May go back to Dover after for the night time fun!

Best you are going to get is get off the 401 at Homer Watson in Kitchener, Head south to Blair road go right and take that to the end and turn right and take that road out to Paris (Can't think of the name but Blair road Tee's up to it.)
From there you could head to Brantford and head up Cayuga way and around.

Those are about the only decent roads on the way, The rest is like the prairies.

This is the way I take:

Or you could go this way. http://goo.gl/maps/MwzWU

A little longer but very scenic...

any decent alternatives where bikers gather on the 13th? heard port elgin is favorable.

A buddy and his friend from Trenton area want to go down, so I am meeting them along the way. I was in the PD area three years ago on business during a PD13 day and I couldn't get over how many OPP were crawling on EVERY road, some not even close to PD with speed traps set up. Not an issue for those of us on cruisers....lol

Planning to go.
I've done the scenic niagara route. Can anyone recommend any route along this way: http://goo.gl/maps/8NkQu

Seems like most group rides are outside toronto, if anyone wants to meet up in etobicoke. let me know

I'm considering checking out long point afterwards.

Did that ride last year, Port Dover (not on the 13th) + Long Point. Long Point's nice enough. It's a nice park and beach, but the town & road is pretty much a long straight line down the spit.

I think i will go but im stuck at work in hamilton till 5pm. not looking forward to riding hwy6 home in the dark

It won't be dark, not with all the headlights on the road from people heading back after Dover. Seriously, I've seen it riding by and all the major roads back to the GTA or nearby towns from port Dover are lit up like christmas trees with all the bikers.

The real problem at that point are the guys who've had too many.

True, who wants to be anywhere near some fool who has had a few, (or even one wobbly pop), before they jump on a bike, that they can barely handle at their best..lol.

Going to be a cool day, (weather network), as of now is saying high of 15. with clouds but only 20% chance of rain. Layering will be in order, with low Thursday night of 9, and later Friday night of 6.

Ya i just saw the weather report, DAMN that's gonna be a cold ride home in the dark lol. Might try to avoid hwy 6 back to Hamilton and take different route back to avoid having to ride near a ton of idiots

I've only missed 2 in over 10 years. You probably wouldn't enjoy a January 13th as much as me if you think this Friday is going to be cold!!
#6 is your best bet coming home. You'll be in the same vicinity as lots of bike traffic - all the way to Rymal Rd, at least. Keep a safe distance (I'm assuming you're a new rider).

Yeah gonna be a cold one for sure. Gonna wear my Chinchilla fur coat and pimp all the biker b*ches at Dover.

This is #12 for me since 2000.

Most of my friends can't get the day off, so I'm doing it alone. Leaving Thornhill at 6:30am. Damn the cold!
Believe me, I've learned not to leave much later than that to avoid the traffic chaos and I have to be back by 3:00 to pickup my kid at school.

Hey all, as this will be my first trip to Dover, I have a noob question for all of you that have been in years past...
What do you do with your helmet and riding jacket/gloves ect.?
Do you leave them on your bike in the hopes that no one will steal them?
My bike doesn't exactly have the most storage capacity, ie: none.
Thanks.

A lot of people do that.
