Any Photographers (Pro/Am) here?

I never could do anything in low light or astrophotographybillcat.jpg
Thought I'd try Photolemur on the fireworks. 1/2 max processing. Thoughts ?

I was going to do that as Olympus has a live view mode that shows the picture as it develops….however, with about 5 mins to go before the fireworks started, and not having read the manual on that particular mode, I figured I’d just wing the settings after shooting a few test shots without fireworks to see what exposure was like. I did one at 30 seconds but it looks like phosphorus bombs going off in a battle. 2ish gave me decent sharpness, 4 wasn’t too bad. More than that started to get a bit busy and a bit messy.
Sometimes you get the best stuff by just experimenting or winging it. The tripod is key for this type of shot. I've done long expourses using bulb mode without a tripod (also winging it) basically standing next to a pole, with mixed results.

A while back I got one of the Peak Design carbon fibre tripods when it was on sale. It’s a really good bit of kit. Very solid. I have that and a little Manfrotto cell phone tripod and that covers nearly every use I might need when travelling.

There’s some really good peak design copies out now too.
