Any GTAM'ers own an electric vehicle?

My neighbour owns a brand new 2022 Bolt, bought this summer. The battery range seems to be keeping pace with the drop in the daytime temperature, 489 km in the summer and 410 km during the last couple of days. He does not use the heater.
Wow….hopefully its a function of both temp and driving style.

It’s not really too cold, but it may just be him cranking the heat when it’s cooled off so range drops hard.

Curious to see long term range changes as it gets colder.

@brianp how’s your range been with cooler weather?

I’m almost at 9000km on one tank of gas on the Volt. Still have a 1/4 tank and last filled up on Mother’s Day. The only reason I used any gas in the last 5 months is because I forgot to plug it in a few times after work. Peak summer was 110km/charge and currently getting around 95km/charge.

Almost time to start looking for a second vehicle to replace my wife’s 10yr old Civic and thinking about getting a full electric.

For those of you who have the Bolt, how do you cope with the looks of it. Otherwise I’d get one.

Maybe I need to take a second look at the newer model. I recall test driving one in 2018 and wasn’t a fan of the styling.

While nothing can ever be as hideous as the Clarity, I do drive a Volt, ride a VStrom and have owned a KLR, so I am somewhat an expert on these matters.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder as they say!

I also like the look of the Bolt. I think the first gen Volt is styled really well, but the 2nd gen Volt is bleh and I can't seem to find an angle I like on it.

The second gen Volt has one of the worst looking front ends I have ever seen. The back and the sides are average but yeah, the first gen is much better looking.

It reminds me of how they made the second gen KLR uglier than the first, or the second gen DL650 too.

wonder if electric/hybrid vehicles will be able to tow?

Not a bulldozer or anything, just a bike trailer + bike

My Volt towed a 4x8 trailer with 2 bikes and zero issues. Sure you could feel them, but overall for the short tow it was zero issue.

I’ve towed a single bike about 30+ km and zero issues on it, but range takes a beating.

Place your bets on Dec 1…Elon promises Tesla semi to roll off the production line (which apparently opened today/yesterday).

Schooling how its done to GM designers.

clean and tasteful, inside and out

Yawn. And painted fleet white, too.

I already can't tell the difference between Honda SUVs. No doubt some people will want to blend in with a sea of uniform neutral-coloured indistinguishable vehicles.

Should have named it the Mediocrity.

I've owned a few Honda's. My first was an 85 Prelude. CRV, Civic hatchback came later. Honda has a habit of either looking really boring or trying too hard to look exciting.
