sure, and it show i was right in my corrected post

so give us your world wide wisdom, what the answer and why? seems everytime someone post a negative about a cop you try to defend, must carry a badge ehh

Again you're showing you talk **** about things you know nothing about. have said many times on here, I'm not a cop, but a commercial gas technician. I just don't believe in attacking someone for doing their job.

I have said many times, there are good cops and bad cops, just like in any profession, there are good people and bad. In this case the cops didn't have enough proof, and the crown told them so. It's not their fault that the crown didn't think there was enough evidence.

not enough evidence. ummm

Her parents said she hanged herself last week, not only because she was sexually assaulted while passed out at a party, but also because she was humiliated by a photograph of the attack published by the alleged rapists. Classmates at her school tormented her afterward.

if this had have been an officials daughter, you can bet your *** they would have found the evidence.

It's obvious you have no idea what the word evidence means. I suggest you pick up a dictionary and read it. When the rape happened; which was November 2011, no one would speak up, not even her friends, so there was not enough evidence for the police to lay charges, and that wasn't their choice, they were told that by the crown. Now that someone has finally come forward they can investigate again. My guess would be, one of the guys involved couldn't take the guilt feeling from her suicide and came forward, but that is just a guess.

or maybe, now stay with me here cause you seem to wonder a bit. the cops feeling under pressure cause the people made such an out cry that they are now in save face mode.

You know I put oilycreek on my ignore list a while back. Guy mostly posts in off-topic while blinding defending cops and doesn't respond to any posts involving educational/professional studies proving his opinion right or wrong. In other words:

Take off your hate blinders just for a min. The alleged rape happened in 2011, no one would come forward, nothing the police can do. I'm not positive on this part, but it sounds as if the picture was released recently, which would be the provoking factor in her suicide. It's strange that all of a sudden everyone is ****** about this, but no one cared for 1 1/2 years. Now suddenly someone comes forward. The police can't do anything if no one will speak up. The schools are as much to blame as anyone. They say zero tolerance on bullying, but that's total BS. A friend of my daughter's was being bullied by a girl, to the point that she couldn't take it anymore, and told my daughter what the girl was saying, my daughter approached the girl and told her, if she says one more thing to her friend, she will knock her out, the bully goes to the principal and cries, my daughter got suspended, and they called the cops. After talking with the girl that was bullied, and another witness, they spoke to my daughter, with the principal there then they asked him to leave the room, and their exact words to my daughter were"we know why you said that to her and that's why we will not charge you". Yet the school never said anything to the bully.

My understanding is the pic was passed around not long after.

I thought I read it was in the last few months, but I could be wrong. If that's the case, then the timing of the suicide didn't make sense. Why 1 1/2 yrs later does she do it.

Have you actually read anything about this? Because it certainly doesn't sound like you know much about her story.

Look, we (the public) don't know enough about this case to bash/defend the cops either way. The usual GTAM suspects will slam the cops because that's what they do, and others will righteously defend them at every turn because that's their schtick. Give it a bloody rest.

At least there's new evidence, the case is being looked at again, hopefully charges will follow and the perps will get what they deserve.

Re: Anonymous solves rape case that took Nova Soctia and RCMP a year to say "We can't

I see many parallels between this case and other totally unrelated cases in Canada that I hope is not the case but I have a bad feeling that there is a pattern in the action of the police.

Example) Our buddy Ragu, looked to me the police were not willing to do anything until he was outed by the Internet and there was escalating vigilantly activity. Even though the evidence seemed pretty slam dunk to us laymen they appeared to have no desire to do anything about it until forced.

This Example) The rape of this poor girl, evidence seemed pretty slam dunk via posted pictures and bragging. Police do not seem to want to do anything about it. Then there is the threat of the alleged perps being outed by the Internet (which comes with the vigilantism), all of a sudden they are doing something!

This pattern has been repeated far too often across the country. Not every case but enough to cause some concern.

Now I understand that they have to have a certain "quality" of evidence but this seems ridiculous to most outside onlookers, it just appears that unless it is all handed to them they take no action. I hope this is not the case.

That's actually something the cops should be faulted for. Public pressure makes bad justice, it's like turning your local police division into a personal lynch mob. Not saying that's what's happening here, but it's happened before.

+1

I remember reading an article on how the social public mob is a terrible thing because it creates a mindset for everyone (including jury) that the person is already guilty before any evidence or trial is held.

Re: Anonymous solves rape case that took Nova Soctia and RCMP a year to say "We can't

really i think it takes a community to raise a kid, and in this as many other cases i'm sure. the community failed starting at home and right up the line.

when i was a kid growing up, if i got out of line and the folks wasn't around there was always someone there to correct me. then when i got home i would get corrected again.
