^Uhhh I'm a little more concerned that we've created a society where teenage boys think it's acceptable to rape a drunk girl and then find it hilarious to send the pictures to the entire world. Or an entire school that saw the pictures and then "slut-shamed" her.

Sure, get mad at the RCMP, the teachers, the parents, the system that failed her, yatta yatta yatta. I'd like to see some damn anger at these F-ing kids.

I dont think anyone in this society has said anything to show that its ok to rape. On the contrary, we live in a society that these issues are very loudly and most actively criticized and public programs to help the victims (more than almost all other countries in the world) The fact that a few criminal menor women think its ok to rape and post pictures is simply because there always have been and always will be sick criminals in every society. And those kids are as dumb and they are criminal for not knowing they are building their own jail by posting these pictures. And a good thing too because now they will get what they deserve (i hope)

I don't think we're doing enough to educate this generation on what exactly constitutes "sexual assault", and "consent". Clearly, looking at eerily similar stories in the media shows that these attackers don't seem to believe they've done anything wrong - hence the pictures, bragging, the sharing on social media, etc.

Its easy to arm chair quarterback this, try and keep your underage kids from getting loaded at parties, advise them staying out drinking with groups of boys isn't smart, pay attention to them after the fact and get them professional help before they ask.

But the reality is some D'bags got a kid hammered up, had relations with her and then outed her on the web. They deserve a slow painful therapy session. Now the case has been reopened there will be a real investigation this time, will be interesting to see what comes out of this.

It's called restrictions. If they don't have enough evidence they can't do anything, if they tried to charge them without proper evidence, you would be the first one saying ******* cops charging innocent people without enough evidence.

I have to think that the police might not be at fault in this one. From what I read it was apparent that people around her (in school) were in on the bullying and harassing her etc... Then whens he committed suicide and it became public they turned their tune and now cry for her. It's probably these people who are rallying behind the cause now because they either realize what they did was wrong or they don't want backlash and join the mob to get the guys who raped her. They are the ones who probably agree to be a witness now and where were they before? If they were there before in front of the police ready to testify and they refused to press charges then it's another story. I'm guessing that wasn't the case.

It's society as a whole that failed this poor girl not just the justice system.

how is it a restriction when the boys posted over the web and bragged how they raped her? the cops just didn't bother to look deep enough.

The restrictions is evidence. Without it they can't do anything, and even with some evidence it's up to the crown not the cops, the cops don't do the prosecuting, they don't get to choose who gets prosecuted.
They didn't brag about raping her. Someone circulated a picture, one of them admitted to having sex with her that night, but he didn't brag, or call it rape. You're just looking for a reason to blame the police, because you hate cops. You talk so much **** about things you know nothing about.

I've had plenty of negative things to say about cops, but you wouldn't have noticed because you're biased against them to begin with.
