Has anyone else noticed that Amazon shipping is kind of all over the place?
We typically order on Friday's so we're home when the package is delivered. (Weekend)
Also, we are Prime members and typically buy items that offer next day shipping.
While this is not a complaint, we always seem to get numerous changes when the goods actually ship. Seems to be getting worse.
We get the arriving today by XX:XX, then at the last minute is changes, then changes again to the next day or 2 days later.
So what should have arrived on Saturday now states arriving on Monday, but then it shows up Sunday morning or Tuesday...

I'm sure this is a result of over worked delivery drivers, many people wanting to be home for the delivery and a aggressive "over promise, under deliver" attitude from Amazon itself.
I would be much happier if they just said 3 days and it showed up in 3 days. Perhaps it is just our area?

So what has your experience been with Amazon delivery?

Similar. On the upside, when I moved up here, I lost one-day shipping and two was the fastest available. We've now got one often but completely crap estimates. They try to obscure where items are until they arrive. Sometimes you can see and the estimates are crap. If it is picked up in Vaughan at 13:00, I can guarantee it is not going to be delivered to me between 10:00 and 12:00 that day as the estimate shows.

Since I switched to Prime about 5 months ago, everything has arrived on time or before.
The issue you speak of is what I had prior to Prime.

I have prime but it is less good further out from the distribution centres.

I've also noted more and more non-prime eligible products including a whole bunch shipped from god knows where with 30+ day delivery times. Amazon prices with aliexpress shipping times, where do I sign up? /s

As a Prime member I haven’t seen any worse than before. Usually arrives on or before the due date.

If anything arrives a day late, I always initiate an online chat and request a credit from Amazon because I'm a Prime member.
We were thinking of doing that as it seems to happen every order, we will for next time.

I use a lot of Amazon, they come every day -- I can't remember them ever missing their initial delivery time.

Perhaps it's your area. Where I live the Amazon guy stops at every second house on our street so it is probably a lucrative route that subcontractors don't want to lose.

If you are out in the sticks, service might be hit and miss, like @GreyGhost mentioned, otherwise around the GTA (meaning cities next to Toronto) shouldn't be a problem.

Yes,

That is likely what's happening, happens with CP too. Sometimes we get way too many parcels/packets/oversized mail in the morning, there's not a chance to deliver it all even with 4 hrs OT on the books. What doesn't get delivered gets returned to the depot and get's prepped for redeliver the next business day.

If you want guarantee delivery date then send it Priority, we're given special instructions on delivery expectations for those items.

That's because it IS an AliExpress seller.

I'm red flagged. I've lost track of how much free stuff I've gotten because it's late (I'm a Prime member). They credit my account and tell me not to worry about returning it. They do what they have to do to get me to say "I can live with that" and they can move on to the next caller.

And always try to buy the item you want where it says "Fulfilled by Amazon". They are ultimately responsible for those and will conceded almost immediately

I don't know what it's like now, but 8 years back I some CPC drivers (including my route in Markham) routinely wrote out delivery tags without attempting delivery -- customers had to pickup at the depot. All my packages were marked for safe drop... drivers didn't care.

It was so common, we had instructions for filming drivers on our website. To CPCs credit, they did address the issue when we reported it.

Sure that happens too, but i would say that's the exception, not the rule.

I'm in the gta and have been having this issue for a while now. Stuff id order during prime day was ALL late, though i kind of expected it, but this was happening for a few months now. Canceled my prime because nothing was arriving next day anymore.

Last time it happened I ordered a microwave door microswitch on a Monday, delivery due Tuesday, on Tuesday I get an email delivery expected Friday... ended up driving to scarborough and buying one from a place called reliable parts.

The kicker was they wouldn't let me cancel the order saying it's shipped and I'd have to return it when it arrives...

I’m Prime , but next day has not happened for about 6 months ? In Oakville so not really the boonies . I’m ok with most stuff being 3-4 days , but if I’m ordering “ repair “ stuff , it’s because I need it .
I did not know about asking for a credit , so thanks for that
