Check to find out if there is return shipping fee by directly contacting the seller. The item site will have words "can" full refund.
Wanting to send something back but the return fee was $23, almost half the cost of the item. Didn't matter, if I was a Prime member, or the item was Amazon Choice.
I think as long as it's fulfilled by Amazon, it has their standard policy. Also, the reason for the return determines whether it is at your cost or Amazon's.
BTW - it pays to speak up if you are a prime member.
I placed an order a couple of weeks ago and the status never got to shipping.
Did the whole chat thing over the past couple of days, and decided to do a phone call, as the chat wasn't going anywhere. The agent was nice on the phone and I was very patient with her. In the end they had to cancel the order as they didn't know what happened, and they offered me a $35 voucher, which basically was half the cost of the item. All I have to do is just re-order it. I'd call that a win.
Typically they are more forgiving like this when the item is sold and shipped by Amazon.
Before COVID the majority of time I got items next day (even same day) for items fulfilled by Amazon.ca without Prime. My theory was it took more effort/cost at that time in the supply chain to purposely delay shipping just because I was not Prime.
After COVID (and during), it usually takes a couple, maybe a few days. They are almost never late (based on their initial estimate of arrival) on anything fulfilled by Amazon.ca, usually early. My latest order was made yesterday and says it will arrive by Friday (which is unusually long for a fulfilled by Amazon.ca IME--again not a Prime Member), I bet I get it Wednesday.
For my purposes. I almost never need something immediately from Amazon--I can wait two or so days. I will queue small items I am in no rush for in my cart until I pass the free shipping threshold or I just add in some k-cup coffee boxes to bump me over the threshold--always need that anyways and it is the same or cheaper than the store.
As expected the item was delivered early, but they sent the wrong items (cheaper version/ sub option) of course they will not refund the difference ($80), instead I have to return it and order again.... Will I get the right one this time????

The only thing I ever returned to amazon was a breaker. I ordered brand X, they sent brand Y. I messaged them that was no good and they wanted to charge me for returning as they said brand didn't matter and I was making a personal choice to return. Brand does &^*%&*^%&* matter with breakers you useless twats. You can't just randomly ship breakers, you could burn someones house down. It ended up costing me time but no money. They told me to reorder and see if I got the right one the next time. wtaf. Breaker lottery? No thanks. I bought from somewhere I could see the part before paying.

Basically similar here, reorder and see if the correct items comes this time! Simple solution in my case was to refund me the $80 price difference (about 10% of the cost)... nope, not an option.
I have had positive experiences with returns and refunds in the past, not this time.

I was already leery of ordering the breaker from them. Too many fakes/used kicking around and Amazon doesn't seem to really care to keep their ecosystem clean. I couldn't find stock near me and sources that made their living selling electrical supplies wanted a fortune (about 4x Amazon price). I gambled. It didn't work out.

I have had great service from Canada Breakers, even when I ordered the wrong one by mistake (plug on neutral when my panel is not...), dropped them off and got a full refund.
I did have to order from a bunch of different places when I did my electrical as no-one had everything I needed.
