Accidentally put OIL in GASTANK.. need help asap!

As for premium, I think it is ok to do that for 2 reasons. 1) 91 is ethanol free.

Holy false batman.

The only major source around here for ethanol free gas is Shell 91. All other major gas companies (that I am aware of) around here have ethanol in EVERY selection.

I believe Esso 91 and Costco premium are sourced from the same place and are also ethanol free.

I wouldn't remove the tank - I would just use some tubing and siphon as much of the liquid out of the tank then fill with fresh gas. Any residual oil would get diluted.

I'd probably add the removed gas/oil mix to my car a little at a time so it doesn't go to waste.

if you run it like that it will smoke like heck and maybe foul the plug and wont do o2 sensors or cat sensors (if your bike is so equiped) any favours. I'd siphon out as much as you can and then refill with clean gas. Dont drive it with that much oil in the fuel.

Agreed.. Drain/dispose, fill up with gas and if you're real worried, add seafoam, ride it until you're almost out of fuel, refill with gas/seafoam and you're good for the winter.

LOL 1:1 oil and gas will FOR SURE foul a plug.

Shell 91 and Ultramar 91 are the only fuels claimed to be ethanol free.

i think you might just be guessing, never fouled plugs in the older sleds. it would be like a 2strokes....lol

Siphoning out may be your best and easiest route to start with.

Or....it's a 125....get your bf and some buddies and flip the bike upside down to drain it! Best part of the bike is how light it is.

because having gravity pull the oil from the oil pan into the cylinders is so much better..

Just dump the tank, refill with gas, done.. There is is very little chance any of the oil has made it out of the tank. If you can see residue of the oil in the tank after dumping it, rinse again with gas. Don't run the mixed gass through your bike unless you are looking for headaches.

There's a lot of wrong information in the first page of this thread.

Your bike is fuel injected, not carbbed. Look around online for instructions on how to remove the tank from your bike then drain it, it'll be much easier with two ppl if this is your first time working on a bike (anything that took 45 minutes on YouTube ended up taking me 5 hours lol)

http://www.hondacbr125r.com/forum/showthread.php?p=79601 (Post 6 has the service manual, it is a much more detailed owners manual)

With regards to the 87 vs 91 debate, follow whatever your owner's manual says and iirc the 125 is actually supposed to use 91.

Good luck!

You put 1:1 oil/gas mixture into 2-stroke engines??? Holy cow, wow. My lawn mower says 30:1, another says 50:1 (gas/oil). If I put more oil, the damn thing will definitely smoke. If I put way more oil, hello to spark plug cleaning.OP, it doesn't matter if your bike is carb'd or FI in this case. Like already mentioned, turn off the petcock, disconnect fuel line, open petcock, drain that gas/oil mixture. Fill with clean gas, take the bike outside as it will smoke a lot for a little bit, and start the bike. If you really want to clean everything up (dunno why, if have tons of spare time?) then definitely remove the tank, drain it completely, flush with varsol, then gas, etc.

MOST Shell 91 and MOST Husky stations have ethanol free 91. Some of them say there is up to 10% on the 91 and for those stations the 91 is NOT ethanol free. If it doesn't say it contains ethanol at Husky or Shell on the 91 pump, then it's ethanol free. I've never seen ethanol free at any other station.

I think I read in the service manual for my RS125 that it's a 50:1 mix. I don't need to worry about it, really, though because it mixes by itself.

If it were me I'd pull the tank off and drain it and put fresh gas in. Run it for a couple of minutes to make sure the lines are clear. Doesn't it take like $5 to fill a CBR125?

This thread should have ended after Retros Post and the OP should have done that right away.
(Except for the petcock and carb part)

GTAM at its best

What I would do is to remove tank and drain it, bring tank to gas station , refill 1/2 way and then shake, open the petcock to flush it and then drain balance into a spare 5 gallon gas container and repeat once or twice. Then you should then add stabilizer, refill and be good to go. 2 tanks of gas to flush out the oil is cheap insurance. Dispose of gas at local recycling center. If any of the oil got past the petcock I'd clean out the fuel line and/or change the gas filter as well.

And even after your post another guy goes and adds his idea of what to do
