50 shot dead - Orlando shooting

If you're going to jump into an argument, then you should at least be able to spell the word.

Are you trying to say that people committing suicide would blow themselves up if there were no guns?
Kids would accidentally blow each other up, making bombs while playing?

Relax sweetheart don't act like you've never misspelt before. I'm trying to say people can use other means instead of guns like pipe bombs and pressure cooker bombs if there are no guns available and it's even less conspicuous. The problem is in people's heads not with the objects they use. If all guns in the states were banned there would still be attacks, just with different weapons

But then that's a pipe bomb and pressure cooker problem. That's like saying if they outlawed hotrods then hang gliders would become a problem. You don't step out of a club into your hang glider to fly home.

We need a meme on this one^

Yes Britain does, and how often do you hear of shootings there?

"Without the widespread availability of such guns, anyone seeking a firearm for criminal purposes in Britain will need to get creative. In 2014, the Birmingham Mail reported that criminals in the city had been forced to use "plundered war trophies and collectible weapons, sometimes more than 100 years old." In fact, during the 2011 riots in the city, experts discovered that a late 19th-century St. Etienne revolver had been fired. In other instances, flare guns and replica weapons had been retrofitted in an attempt to make them deadlier."

How many high # mass casualties have there been with home made bombs in the US? They must be easier and cheaper to get than guns in the US, no?

Why so concerned about suicide? I can understand the negligent/accidental deaths when kids are involved but why suicide? Of all the serious circumstances which surround an individual choosing to end his or her life, you care about the tool used? It's so irrelevant.
Suicide is usually associated to a temporary state of low. You hit rock bottom, wanna commit suicide, oh theres a gun, 100% way to die.

Other methods take a lot more to actually get the guts to do it.
Tying a rope properly and pushing the chair
Jumping off a high altitude
Car accident impact...
Poison!?

And those methods have possibilities to fail. And also people are lazy, so if its just a temporary hunch... have to go through all the effort might be enough to change the person's mind.

Guns have a much higher probability of working.

If you fail, you have more chances of getting back on your feet and getting better than...well...if you succeed and die.

On the other hand..Guns are just VERY convenient to inflict damage as theyre made to be... easy to use to inflict as much damage. Creating a bomb requires more knowledge and is riskier than unloading a gun.

So lets just keep it at "ease of use is a big factor and efficiency is a big factor" in the "wrongful" usage of guns.

And no matter how much you say "the bad guys will find a way to get guns just the same" but the trick here is to NOT MAKE IT EASY for them to actually get them.
Just like drugs which are dangerous substances, there should be stricter laws around guns (in USA)... only makes sense.

This just furthers the argument that advanced weapons with massive killing power -- especially those the sole purpose of which is to kill people -- should be kept out of the hands of the populace since the evidence suggests that even the most stupid of slights -- an insult, rooting for the wrong football team, being cut off in traffic, hating gay people etc -- will result in people using them.

In places where such weapons are not generally available people may find other ways to take out their frustrations but they are rarely, if ever, comparable to the total bloody carnage wrought in the US by nutters with handguns and semi-auto weapons of war.

/facepalm

Im arguing this if guns were hypothetically banned in America. I'm saying regardless if guns are banned, these people will go to any means to carry out what they want to do wether they create bombs or just buy the gun illegally. Don't believe it do research on attacks in countries where guns are hard to access.

Some examples from the top of my head; Atlanta Bombing in the 90's, Oklahoma Bombing, World Trade Centre Bombing, Columbine, Boston Marathon Bombing. I'm not going to be posting anymore we shouldn't be arguing about this on a thread that should be focusing on the victims, I've derailed it enough

So you believe that before guns were invented, human history was raft with thousands or millions of years of "everybody-loved-everybody-and-very-few-people-died-due-to-violence" right?
