50 shot dead - Orlando shooting

The problem is that pressure cooker bombs are illegal,

So is shooting people, or flying planes into buildings, or stabbing people.

Notice how the laws don't actually stop that?

The problem isn't the tool, it's the person who is a terrorist, or has a mental health issue, or other socio-economic issues and so on. Focus efforts on resolving those issues and you'll have a much better outcome than censuring law abiding citizens.

How will you ever be able to "resolve" all possible human conditions? How will you be able to identify unstable people before they act? Terrorists before they act? Someone who for whatever trigger suddenly acts out of character?

If you can't do that in a consistently reliable manner, then it's perfectly reasonable to place conditions on what imperfect humans are able to get their hands on in order to protect the greater interests of society as a whole.

And in the meantime we need to restrict certain things from people for the best interest of EVERYONE.
You clearly are delusional. You believe that somehow people or govt(the ppl you dislike) will magically eradicate all negative human behaviors.

Let's start with you, ever speed in your car or on your bike? Don't lie.

speeding - going over the posted speed limit even by 1km/h

I suspect you're not advocating for eliminating cars or motorcycles, despite their many dangers so thank you for proving my point. Restrictions on tools don't stop people from doing bad things, including speeding.

80 million law abiding gun owners in the US, and another 2+ million in Canada didn't kill any body today, yesterday, nor will they tomorrow or the next day. Why do you want to seize their property?

Do you really think that will stop terrorist acts?

What about the millions of terrorist or extremists, or people with mental health issues that didn't kill anybody today, yesterday nor will they tomorrow or the next day... why should we seize their property?

My answer is, because the presence of those weapons present a higher risk.
Risk is even higher within the hands of these people in the groups i just mentioned.

But the risk of losing or misplacing or having stolen or getting your hands on a weapon is higher if there's a higher rate of weapons out there, not locked up and easily accessible.

So at what point does "protecting one self with guns" cause more risk to everyone (in a very ironic way)?

Seeing how much hate people are down south and how much weaponry they have access to is kinda scary to be honest. Coupled with a little bit of bigotry, ignorance, and you've got a nice cocktail to increase hate crime.

Me thinks (once again) our Murican friends need to implement (and enforce!) more safety measures.

Nice try on the strawman argument, but I'm not advocating seizing property of any law abiding citizen.

And of course terrorists aren't law abiding nor are the often citizens now are they?

In terms of mental health, I agree that if they are truly mental cases, then it would be wise to have protections enforced, that is what I've been advocating. But this does not apply to 10's of millions of law abiding gun owners on this continent, nor should they be penalized because there are mental health issues in society.

Focus on the root causes, not a singular inanimate object because they are "scary".

PS, Your hypocrisy on focusing on only one type of inanimate object that "could" cause harm while blatantly ignoring others that also can/do cause harm does not go unnoticed. ;)

Citizens are responsible for most shootings, not terrorists. How do you plan to vet said terrorists before they commit an act, skin colour?

I welcome bans and seizures. Let's make the world a safer place. One household at a time.

You really make no sense.
You proved my point, there is a reason you can't put an F1 or MotoGP bike on the roads.
oh look restrictions on an items within their category.

Dude, you are hung up on terrorists. You come across as a very feeble person.
Why don't you go to Syria or Iran/Iraq and fight them? Better results for your cause than posting on a bike forum.

Sugary sodas, fatty foods, and 70+ horsepower motorcycles should go next. No joke.

So citizens can't be terrorists nor can they have terrorist affiliations, connections, and allegiances? Is there such a thing as a terrorist in your world? "Citizens" also do most of the bombings, airplane/building connections, stabbings, and what not. What's your plan there?

But you want to focus on guns. I guess you might as well take lawfully owned property from 80 million other citizens just in case............

Do you care about pressure cooker violence, airplane violence and knife violence with the same fervor you do gun violence? Shouldn't we confiscate all of those as well "just in case"?

Did you guys see that piece? The inventor of the AR15 said it was NEVER for civilian use only military to compete with the AK.

Also his family said he NEVER kept a gun in his house.

Oh look, the guy that invented a lethal killing machine NEVER had a gun in his house.

That's just poppycock. They aren't black nor scary....well I guess coke can look black in the dark so yes, lets ban Coca-Cola!
I think something like 600,000 Americans die of heart disease every year. If they can't get their **** together and ban fast food and soda I don't wanna live in this world any more.

Alcohols and tobacco without saying. Duh.[/QUOTE

EXACTLY! See how you contradict yourself.

Those items are RESTRICTED and have background checks meaning when you go to buy them they can ask you for legal id and refuse you the sale.
They also have a age limit restrictions.
They also allow a bar owner to refuse you because they fear/believe that you are drunk and can cause harm to yourself or OTHERS.

All of those things have everyday uses outside of killing or practicing to kill (i guess that's sport).. just saying
What I'm not saying is ban all guns, there are some legit reasons to own some types of firearm; but Jesus, use some common sense in your arguments

and the hits keep on coming, damn you make this easy.

And none of those people can walk into a school or mall and start killing other people with their personal health afflictions.
