3 days and still no safety

Cycleworld blows. One of the 1st places i've ever looked at bikes years ago. The sales guy tried to tell me a bike with visible rollover damage for 8 grand was fine i was a noob not a retard.... + The way the shop works looks more like a scrap yard than a bike shop, I've never gone back neither should you.

Feel free not to believe it, but the mechanic is merely the authorized inspector, not the issuing inspection facility. In other words, shops are accountable for the safety certificate being issued, as they direct and employ the person signing it. A mechanic is not authorized to write his own inspection report without the papers being assigned to an accredited facility. As a matter of consumer protection it is necessary to protect the public from a shady person, by ensuring that these certificates are regulated by accredited facilities. I can't refer you directly to the written legislation, but in my experience in the trucking industry, ALL of our repairs are done on a mobile, but my annual safety has never been allowed unless the vehicle goes to a licensed shop.

+1
I am a licensed motorcycle technician and that is the way it works. When i had a shop years ago the ministry inspected my facility and mymeasuring tools for discs and drums. They also looked at my set up for checking headlight aim. No one can stop a tech from signing a safety certificate no matter where he is but if he should end up in court over it he'll be in a lot of trouble.

stay away from cycle world man, its not the same cycle world it used to be years ago

So how did the "getting the temp permit from the MTO" without a safety first end up?

He should have his licence revoked. He doesn't properly check the bikes and breaks the law as posted here many times. I wouldn't trust a bike safetied by him as you have no clue if anything was even checked.

He was pretty thorough with the two safeties he did for me. With disc brakes on most bikes it doesn't require a lot of dismantling to safety a bike.
Stuff like tires, horn, lights can be checked in two minutes. Wheel bearings, steering head, swing arm; up on the hoist then take it for a ride.

I would like to know where this is written into law as I do not believe it to be true.

Lots of references to safety station rules but below should be enough.
5. It is a condition of a licence that the licensee,
(a) own or lease the premises in which the inspections are carried out;

So unless a mechanic owns or leases each house/apartment building/farm/driveway/condo a safety is done at.....................

For all those who disagree with Rosey Toes' safeties, take your bikes to a shop that won't certify your bike due to a slightly cracked signal lens or fender eliminator.

I couldn`t handle that. If it was me I`d get a temporary plate on it and use it, make an appointment somewhere for a safety and get the safety done while you wait.

So did OP get the bike or still no Safety, cuz its been more than 3 days now

Since the real Cycle World closed down and the new "Cycle World" has opened.
I have always been worried about how ligitimate these people were.
I have avoided them like the plauge.
I have never stepped foot in the new "Cycle World."
I'm not even sure if they bought the brand name, or just stole it.
Didn't they start off as the Cycle Superworld, or something like that.
Then somehow it got changed to "Cycle World."
I am glad that they have gotten nothing but bad press.
It seems like everybody has something bad to say about the place.
I am happy that I don't and will never need to go to "Cycle World"

I miss the old Cycle World.
They were a bit of a problem at times, but they carried a wide variety of products, service was OK, and new bikes were always on display.

It was a fine store.
These new people have ruined the good name of Cycle World.

There is a lot to saftey checks.
There are a lot more things to check than most people think.
In the spring, everybody brings the bike in for safety.
Why are we surprised that it takes a couple of weeks to safety in the spring?

ted from rosey toes came to my house had tools in his back pack and completed the safety in my garage, he removed my fairings to check the frame, check headlights, brakes, clutch and gearing, starting etc, he checked everything, so on my end, i don't see ted at rosey toes doing half arsed safety checks, i had him come to safety a friends bike, and when he came to do the safety, he said he won't because the bike that my friend purchased (i was not around at the time of purchase) was missing rear brake pads, I was amazing, it was a 2002 ora 2001 gsxr 600 .. and it was missing rear pads !!!!! i can't believe my buddy missed this when he trailored the bike home, mind you i was on the floor dying of laughter because i told my buddy hes a moron , but thumbs up for ted backing out of the safety, because knowing my buddy he would go transfer ownership and ride off with no back brakes.

I had a friend who removed the entire rear brake on his TL to save weight.

LoL gotta get rid of that 40 pounds of metal lol maybe the owner of my bike my buddy bought it from had that in mind. :O

I jumped on the bandwagon of hating Ted myself.
Untill I saw him perform one.
Then I changed my tune.
I think a lot of the haters out here have never actually seen Ted work.

He's alright in my book.
Long live Ted.
