Got a used bike on monday. Im a new rider so I called cycleworld scarborough to pick up the bike(no plates so can't ride it) and have a safety and an oil change done. 3 days later and still no word. Is it normal for such a long wait? I called the service department and the guy said that they still haven't gotten to it yet. He was pretty rude about it too. Said "WE will call YOU when its ready".

Not the right way to do business that's for sure.
Oil change and safety can be done under 30 minutes but depends how busy they are.

kuro is right, it doesnt take more than an hour.
maybe you should walk in to the store and see whats up personally

"WE will call YOU when its ready".

this means.....We have 321 bikes ahead of yours......what makes YOU so special

Just wait your turn !!!!

Let's see. Motorcycle industry+springtime. Should only take a couple of hours. Bwahahaha!

you can't grab a set of plates from MTO? request temp stickers and grab the bike and take it somewhere else?

All shops are sooo busy right now that things are taking a LOT longer then they should. I really wish that they would get more people in service . . . . .

they should know to hire more people when its busy season and make the process faster for their customers..i never liked how cycleworld did their business..all their stores look like junk inside.

Yupp, gonna give him a call real soon.

Tell cycle world not to touch your bike. Call Ted, while your bike is still at cycle world, and ask him to do the safety in they're parking lot. Get your plates from the MTO, then ride over to teds shop and have your oil change done in half an hour.

Wow - amazing how cycleworld is still in business. Year over year same horror stories.

thanks for all the advice folks. Going to head there tomorrow and take it somewhere else. Last time i called, they said that they haven't even gotten to my bike yet. Going to get the temp plates from the MTO and take it to Ted. Everyone seems to give him great reviews. Again, thanks for all the advice.

Went to Ted on Tuesday to do my safety and replace rear brake pads. Took about 30 mins. Awesome service and funny as hell.

Come on people, This time of year, motorcycle shops are VERY busy.
Why can't you just be patient?

Shops were busy for a long time now. However decent shop is not rude on the phone and would set expectations on how long will it take.
OP is new rider, just got his ride and cycleworld does not even have basic level of customer service to manage OPs expectations.
All that aside from bad rep they got over the years screwing people over with service and sales.
