Mv Augusta GTA?

I have a friend that has a couple of F4i's.I wonder what happens to the value of them if MV is dead and gone?

Now you know why I'm ****** about MV's financial woes and being in bike-limbo.
Why do you want this bike? It is just a paint job , not worth waiting for. Buy an RC or a regular one . They are available now

M V has been on the ropes serveral times, they will let it go into receivership/bankruptcy , eliminate the debt load then come back from the ashes with a clean slate. The Italian portion of the ownership are bonkers, the relationship they had with H-D was a well documented gong show.

I'd be attempting to get out of any deal I had with a dealership, pick up an instock bike for peanuts when the dust settles but be conscious of the fact parts may never exist.

Imagine just for a moment... Aprilia snaps up MV and builds their triples to replace the venerable Shiver, maybe the Caponord and builds a lower-end Tuono ... and also the 675. Drop the F4 which has always been pretty but never so capable, and then you have a mid-range supersport and several (well-received and moderately successful) less powerful alternatives in naked and adventure. In the meantime, you pick up all of MV's dealerships.

Aprilia's numbers are a long way up with their new bikes. This would just bolster that.

From what I can tell, MV's litre-bike is a dud but the triples are good, and Aprilia's big bikes are good but the mid-range models are meh. So a tie-up makes way too much sense. It'll never happen ...

Well, it would be quite easy or easier before they accepted A quick cash infusion from AMG. Now AMG piece of pie would be significantly diluted if another investor comes in .... The Germans won't get rid of it at a loss, they are not HD. The debt which has been on MV's books for long time is basically killing them.

I am not sure Aprilia could actually use efficiently MV's parts or production lines .... They are quite apart. If I was Aprilia I'd rather take my money and put into a damn new mid size engine, something they should have done long time ago. Aprilia can do it, they don't need MV for hat, but they got the ill fated motoGP bug, which makes no sense .... In a couple of years they will be gone from motoGP. They should never have left WSBK .....

Well, Aprilia does have the 750 twin. But yeah, I am with you - they should have stayed in WSBK. I know why they didn't, though... most North Americans do not even know what WSBK is, but it seems like everyone knows MotoGP. They probably should have joined BSB to get some UK support, but then again it wasn't until this year that they had the new motor and AFAIK you can't do so much to the engine for that series.

I'd bet that Aprilia's plant is under-utilised and could take on some of the tooling etc. for the triples. They shut down about 3 months of the year. However the way that the Tuono and RSV4 have been selling in the last year, they might have a problem...

From the 2015 Piaggio report:

"...in the motorcycle sector, the Aprilia brand reported revenue growth of 36% from 2014. The Aprilia super sports bikes with the V4 engine, assisted by the benefits of Aprilia's MotoGP and Superbike activities, and its victory in the 2015 Superstock 1000 FIM Cup, generated strong growth in sales in 2015, with an improvement of 56% in sales volumes for the RSV4 range and 74% in sales for the Tuono 1100 product."

Well, the dealership is strongly advocating for MV and are asking me to be patient, for the bike will come into production in April and I will be riding it just at the turn of summer.

If push comes to shove, they have this 2016 in stock:

That's a good alternative if you can't wait

Can't race the 800 easily, but then you probably didn't want to anyway. They really have a great bike there, it's too bad they don't know how to run a company ... I mean, they sold all the triple bikes they brought into North America... and left the customers in limbo and unable to buy for months at a time. Ugh.

Aprilias are amazing bikes and the V4 engine sounds like nothing else. I have been on the bike a few times this year and it has always been the Tuono. George at Corsa is great to deal with. Big jump in power from the F3 to the RSV4RR...you will love it.

This is just a ridiculously awesome engine sound...

The new one carries power a lot higher up the tach, though... I haven't heard a good pipe on one yet except from a dyno run...
