You had people on the sidelines cheering you on, nice. Not too far from the track, though... GB might want to get a control on that...!
Race officials allow certain people to stand near the start/finish line to give gap signals to racers.

Shaman, not sure if you have ever done a lap at GB but you are going hard left on that corner, the laws of gravity have to be broken before anyone can make it to where the scorers are locate on the left.OK... but shouldn't there be some sort of protective barrier? Even TMP has one, and my opinion of TMP in general is well represented.
It just looked pretty risky by Canadian standards.
It's a fair comment. there used to be a fence on the right side of that turn last year, a few people made it pretty close to the fence after low sides, this year the fence is gone - GB does a good job at listening to any feedback. No I haven't been there. However things happen all the time that nobody expects to be possible. I'm just commenting that I don't see that often, especially in Canada, it's not a big thing.

It's like asking to put a barrier on the inside of turn 6 at TMP, or in the left side of turn 2 at Mosport... etc
I kind of agree with Shaman on this one. It's not so much the people at start/finish that concern me, but rather the people on the grass farther down. If someone got into a tankslapper or whatever around there on the front straight the bike could go anywhere. Whenever I was in the stands on Sunday I was thinking that the spectators on the ground could be kept back a little more. It was making me nervous. As a rider on the track you certainly don't notice it.
Damn they do, I guess I always go through there screaming "Ohhhh sh......" and didn't notice but regardless the point is that it is most likely there not to protect spectators from cars or bikes but for crowd control i guess. They have that at turn 2 Mosport (assuming you mean big track).![]()

I rather have no protective barrier/wall to crash into.

Move the spectators, no need for walls.
